BUYERS SHOPPING WITH PETS BEWARE!: Today I stopped by this Global Pet Foods store in Port Hope, Toronto Rd. for the second time as my first time was quite pleasant. My small dog just had gotten attacked by another dog and I stopped by this store once to help calm myself down. The young employee was very nice. I decided to stop by a second time. My dog is a small senior dog who is a DINO dog (dog in need of space). As I shopped for items I felt some tension on my dogs leash and I looked behind me and two big rottweilers were behind me severely getting into my senior dogs space. I quickly picked my dog up by his harness. As I walked through the store these big rottweilers continued getting into my space as they continously tried to smell my dog that is now in my arms. I asked the owner who's dogs these were as he didnt seem fazed by these two dogs at large and he responded with "they are mine." A man with a small Boston terrier came in and the two big rottweilers quickly entered this Boston terriers space. The boston terrier appeared in distress trying to get his owner to pick him up and running around the store as the two rottweilers followed him. As the Boston terrier desperately tried to seek space in his owners arms the boston decided he had enough and snapped at one of the rottweilers. Thankfully the owner picked up his Boston and left. I regretfully continued to shop and explained to the owner that my dog needs space as he can be testy. The owner appeared not to care that I tried to shop with a 15lbs dog in my arms as he continued to have his rottweilers at large. To pay for my order I had to place my dog on the counter as he couldn't be on the ground with these rottweilers at large in the store. If any dog owner cares for the safety and well-being of their dog or they just want a pleasant shopping experience for their dog DO NOT SHOP HERE. I will be contacting head office to make it mandatory for these two rottweilers to be tethered properly and not at large in the store. I will also be contacting my local animal control to get support in making Global Pet Foods not only a positive shopping experience, but a safe one. Absolutely irresponsible of this franchise owner to have his dogs at large running up to customers dogs like that and not taking any steps to manage his dogs. The owner just sat behind the counter on his phone. Extremely disappointed that this store put my dogs well-being at risk.

All the staff members are very helpful and friendly. I wouldn't shop anywhere else for my pet supplies. They have such a great selection and are very nice towards my dog Max.
