Glenora Pediatric Clinic - Edmonton

Continual issues with front desk reception to the point where I felt the need to address it with my paediatrician and then again another doctor there. I am astounded by how unheard and uncaring the receptionist is. If you call as soon as they open for an urgent matter her automatic response is we are booking into July or August and there is nothing I can do sorry. You literally have to push and fight and advocate for your children to be heard by the front desk staff for them to even put in a note to the doctor for them to call you back. If there are no appointments I understand but to be given no avenue for an alternative solution unless you push and push as a parent is exhausting. All over the clinic are printed signs with rules in black font block letters. God forbid you are running ten minutes late with your small child who is ill or you will be cancelled. God forbid you miss the clinics call to verify your appt the day before or you will be cancelled - try calling them back I dare you… because you. Will. Not. Get. Through. I am so frustrated with this clinic - I work in paediatric cardiology at the stollery and I cannot get over the lack of humanness the front desk staff gave. I have requested for a referral to another clinic and it’s unfortunate because the doctors here are AMAZING - but boy does their front desk staff need some work. I really hope some changes are made. It does not feel like a family centered care facility that has realistic expectations of people with young children. Also your receptionist leaving threatening voicemails saying call back or we will cancel u and giving me only four hours to do so like I don’t have a job or kids … is unrealistic.

Not impressed with the reception and Dr Bhaloo. Cancels when we were already at their elevator and reasons she’s been calling when she hasn’t. Dr Bhaloo isn’t child-friendly.

The doctor completely blew off my concerns about my 7-year old son's mental health, cut me off and barely glanced at the reports I provided (which he handed back to me and didn't include in the file). He concluded all of my son's problems stemmed from him being overweight, never mind any family history or which came first--the weight gain or the anxiety/depression/OCD/ASD type symptoms. Staff was abrupt and unpleasant.

Very disappointed with this clinic. It honestly feels like they don't care about my child. My sons pediatrician follows up, and even calls a day before his appointment to confirm, because sometimes is 6 months in advance. I don't here from this clinic unless I call. There is no courtesy here. I won't be sticking around.

We absolutely love Dr. Lo (she is so kind and caring with our daughter) but whenever I try to call to book an appointment, I get a message saying that the clinic is closed (always during business hours and for full days sometimes). This is so frustrating. Maybe something needs to be changed with their front desk staff or training so this doesn't keep happening! I would gladly change my rating to a 5 star if they fixed this issue, as we have no other complaints.

Dr Lo is competent and very nice but the clinic is run terribly. They never answer the phone and when they do it’s very rude and disrespectful. It doesn’t matter what time your appointment is you are always waiting a minimum of 30 min in the room before she comes. The clinic needs a better support staff and Dr Lo needs to be better with time management.

Waited 1.5 hours for a student to tell us it would be another "while" before the real doctor could see us. What's the point of appointments if you can't keep to them. I took time off of my busy work day, lost money to come here. And in the end I didn't even get to see the real doctor before I had to leave to get my other child from daycare that was closing soon. So I lost hours at work, meaning money in my pocket and food on the table. Won't be coming back with my children and I suggest you do the same.

I don’t like giving bad reviews, but this is only for the phone system at this doctors office. I absolutely cannot get a hold them of. I can’t leave a voicemail, I can’t send an email, and other than physically walking in, I have no idea how to make an appointment! No one answers the phones. Dr. Lo is incredible, but I’ve called the office 9 times already just this morning. I can’t do that every time I need to book my child in. I have anxiety when the thought of booking him an appointment comes up. I think I have to go elsewhere, which is very sad. I just can’t justify having to call somewhere 15+ times in a day.
