★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Being a frequent visitor to Greece and a lover of Greek food, I am wary of Greek food establishments in Canada, the home of North American bland and gravy with everything. Homer's passes the test well. The owners and chef have not lost that unique Greek gene. Okay, this is not Athens or Thessaloniki, Corfu or Crete or places in between, but the food nevertheless tries its best, using Canadian products and in a Winnipeg environment, to hold on to the tastes of the old country. The meze offerings were fresh and tasty and the tzaziki was close to the original with good yogurt and a nice garlic kick. But what is a caesar salad doing on a Greek menu?! High marks go to the souvlaki, moist, tender and just right. There are various other non-Greek selections for those who go to a Greek restaurant to eat non-Greek food...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I are regulars here. We have favorites. Their butter chicken is amazing and so is the liver stew. But there are many more dishes. Love their Samosas and their tea. Also really like the flavour of their rice and spaghetti side dishes. Owner is extremely friendly and the service is usually quite quick.
