You might worry that this means it’s nearly impossible to get to the camp, but you don’t need to worry about that as our roads are well maintained and getting to our camp will be a beautiful drive filled with Ontario scenic landscape at every turn.

Our focus on fishing is such that we don’t just offer our main lake to fish on, but rather, we also provide a wide variety of expeditions for our guests. To this end, you can visit with us at Gathering Lake and enjoy catching limits of Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Perch, and Whitefish daily. All packages include cabin, boat and motor. To add variety to your trip, we also provide access to a variety of other lakes in the area and allow you access to these lakes by providing trailered boats that you simply have to hitch up on your own vehicle. While the fishig is plentiful as with any new body of water we recommend you go with a guide for a day or two to learn the how the bite is working.

We are located in the famous Lake Nipigon water shed which is one of the most productive fishing areas in Ontario. Gathering Lake is an excellent fishing spot for many species, but we have access to over 18 additional lakes for your fishing adventures.

W	Women Hunt Fish Camp Too (Women Hunt Too) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been to GLO a few times and have enjoyed it every time. It is just about the most beautiful place I have ever been to bear hunt. Great people and very accommodating! I have taken a 305lb 9yr old black bear with a chocolate stripe down the back! Thanks Terry and Julie!
S	Some Guy on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terry’s Huber’s (owner I use his name because he changes business names from time to time) extremely dishonest borderline/over the line thief. His outfit has changed names several times probably to outrun his bad reputation. Found several vehicles and boats with different names on them that match up to surrounding terrain proving he name hops and found a lot online from older post. His bear baits are lazy and too close together and too close to road to the point that there illegal. No tcams to prove your not on a nocturnal bear even though he said there would be. His guide was more concerned with shooting everything from the truck with his .22 than getting you a bear literally every time a grouse crosses the road he would stop and shoot it even if close to your bait. Then the guide kept telling the bird hunters that’s there’s lots of grouse on the road we were bear hunting on so we had road hunters blasting close to our baits and wondering into our baits while we were in stand and per the guides instructions. Was told 85% success on bear and 75% on wolf. Absolute lie guide said hardly any bears were killed that year and only one wolf and we were one of the last groups. Guide said they don’t kill hardly any moose anymore and that’s what the wolves like so they don’t come in anymore. Using fish as bait in the open with no trail cam telling another client wolves were eating it every night. Gentlemen put out his own cam and discovered the eagles were cleaning it up every night, how would a legit guide not know that? I think he did but didn’t care. His wife had tcams on her bear that she killed while there’s paying customers in camp. And brought it to camp without tagging it how many times a year do they that? A lot of the success story’s on Facebook we found out through her maiden name are their relatives. She was also hunting no where near where we were all packed in too close. Saw one bear out of our entire group after dark as I was leaving standing on road after legal shooting hours. And was asked why I didn’t shoot it? Maybe because it was illegal? Guide asked us to shoot a lynx if we saw one $25,000 fine I found out after I read regulations thank god I didn’t take a “professional” “guides” word I might still be sitting in jail. Was coached to shoot wolves then let them lay then we would go get a tag. Truly ignorant. Terry Huber needs shut down and thrown out of Canada. Send him back to Indiana where he belongs. He is a disgrace to Americans and sportsman alike. I’m embarrassed to be from the same country as him. Sorry Canada were not all like that and thank you Canada for giving me the opportunity to enjoy your awesome wilderness I will never forget it!

I am disabled with hip injury so paid owner Terry $100 extra bucks to put my stand up for me which was not done. Ended up paying a young man $200 to help me with stand. We also paid extra to have food provided for us 6 months earlier but 4 days before hunt to begin owner canceled the food causing us to scramble at the last minute for 7 days of food. Gave the owner Terry 3 game cameras and asked for pics from our stands prior to arriving to make sure he wasn't putting us on nocturnal bears but never received a single pic. Terry promised to be hunting in new area but the baits where not set until the day we arrived and activity was pushed to night. Cabins were horrible and seemed more likes garden shacks then a real lodging. Owner Terry was the laziest outfitter I have seen in 41 years never coming out of his chair and making his wife do the hard work of baiting and recovery. I brought my autistic son with me and found out that the owner was insulting him in the worst way while we were out of camp. My son was able to score on a bear the 3rd day after a huge hassle to get in a stand that was active thanks to Steve the guide. It was all lost because the outfitters freezer was not working and the hide and meat all spoiled. Avoid at all cost.
B	Billy Bob on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not as described prior to hunt. Don't think our baits were baited until we showed up. Promised a bait that hadn't been hunted and there was fresh shell casings and candy rappers at the base of stand. Promised a active bait with day time activity saw nothing all activity was after dark and they wouldn't move us to a non nocturnal bear. No trail cams. Every question I had got side stepped no direct answers. Was told "alot" of bears was killed up there this year two weeks prior to going, arrived and was told it's been a terrible year (after they have your money) only 10 bears were killed this year, last year was 40. Was told wolf success 75% and bear 85% not even close. The guide told us not to bother wolf hunting there because they don't bait with anything the wolves want anymore. Terry told us that the wolves are extremely difficult to get after you book your hunt based on a false 75% statistic. Was told prior to booking that the baits are every two miles skipping one so you would be at least 4 miles apart. Our baits were 3/4 miles between hunters and 1 1/4 miles between hunters measured with GPS and truck odometer . Two guys combined tree stand time of 72 hours didn't even see a bear. I wouldn't believe Terry Huber if he told me it snowed in Canada after this trip. I am an experienced hunter have hunted elk, muley, antelope, whitetail, predators, with above average success with one record book archery whitetail all unguided with no outfitter. This was my first time using an outfitter or guide and honestly believe I could of done better on my own. Bottom line is I don't like being lied to. I know hunting isn't all about the kill or even seeing something but I expect honesty I would of gone for the experience anyway because my friends were going. Pro's Lodging was single wide trailers that are dry and clean some old water stains on ceiling. Good stove, fridge, water heater, sinks, etc.. . Good for being that far out. Fishing was good! Didn't eat any outfitter food because we were too busy eating fresh caught walleye! Boats and motor worked well little sun bleached but no issues there. Really enjoyed fishing. Unbelievable stars at night take the time to look up! Beautiful country good roads. Some mini vans made it in. Tons of grouse and other wildlife in woods and on roads. Saw a Lynx wich was awesome! Friendly people everybody in camp got along good talked like they've known each other for a long time. I did enjoy this trip. But wouldn't recommend it for bear, wolf, or moose hunting. Terry did apologize and offer a discount for a future hunt. I would not go back unless the bear Hunt was free or had a no bear no pay guarantee with a discount. If Terry makes this right I will update this post. I do feel like Terry wanted you to have a good time and get a bear but it takes action more than just wanting it. Terry and ourselves did succeed at having a good time.

Terry has always been fair and willing to go the extra mile to make our trip enjoyable. If killing a bear is the only thing that is enjoyable to you then you might try a zoo. Terry has a hunting camp; different than a killing camp. YOU have to hunt a bear, not Terry. I’ve gone up on fishing trips and I’ve had to fish. Meaning that I didn’t expect Terry to hook a fish for me and allow me to real it in. That does sound like fun though. If you’re into fishing and hunting give Terry a try at Gathering Lake Outfitters. No guarantees of getting a bear or a fish but the environment isn’t the problem if you come up empty handed. There are bear and fish all around the area of Gathering Lake Outfitters. With being handicapped and it being my first time hunting a bear I was a little nervous but Julie our guide did everything in her power to make us feel comfortable. I was able to shoot a big big bear. It was a 350 pounder. What a exciting time we had. We caught several fish and the cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We liked it so well that we booked another hunt. Thank you Julie andTerry.
C	Chris Cooper on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to Gathering Lake Outfitters lodge for a fish camp experience and that is what we got! Terry, the owner, went out of his way to make our trip a memorable one. Between Terry and his assistant Joe they made sure our equipment was working fine, gave great directions and provided some personal guiding as well. All in all it was a great "Fish camp" experience. We caught fish, had several great fish meals, saw eagles, moose, grouse and even a bear crossed the road in front of us when we were leaving! The camp is not fancy, but it's basic accommodations were clean and functional. Would love to go back!
