If the regular staff can't help you the owner will be there in a heartbeat and if they don't have it he will tell you where to get it. They should have 6 stars

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were at Home Hardware on Algonquin a few days ago looking at deck chairs. They were at the front, near the cashier. She overheard us talking about the fact that we liked the chairs, but not the colour. She offered to check her system to see if any of our preferred colours were in stock, then physically went back to verify. Not having any, she wrote us up a rain check, and they will call us when the chairs do arrive. Her attentiveness created a sale. By way of comparison, at Canadian Tire nobody offered assistance when we were looking at chairs there. Same situation, hoping for a different colour. We could have asked, but too often there it has been my experience that the part time, teenage, minimum wage help either doesn’t know or doesn’t care. So we left without making a purchase. Ironically, it was in the news last week that Canadian Tire is going to invest a ton of money in online/computer applications to “improve the customer experience”. My prediction is it will be a big waste of money.
