The worst managed skating club in Edmonton; very unorganized and rude. Even CANSKATE Canada has been notified by their poor practices. I would avoid this club as they only care about the money and then provide inadequate communication and poor teaching to children. I would recommend other clubs who are much more professional and have quality management...your kids deserve a good experience not a bad one as this club provides. So many of the parents that were within our group were infuriated and some parents even discontinued lessons without a refund because the management was so poor.

Wow, the coaches are fun and friendly. My child cannnot wait for her next lessons. The program is well designed and teaches critical skills quickly. It is one of the best parts of our week.

My son has done 3 classes and we have just signed our daughter up for the PreCanSkate. It was hard the first couple times as I would have to talk with a coach almost daily as my son would seem lost on the ice. They seemed to take the advice and this round of lessons they are communicating better with the parents and are more organized.

My daughter has been skating with this club since she was 4 years old, she is now 9. We are in private lessons now; however we did learn to skate and star prep. Of course with any organizations there will be some unhappy people. Our experience has been very positive with the club. We have enjoyed countless hours of watching our daughter skate everyday building more skill and getting stronger. There are so many coaches to choose from and each and everyone of them brings something different to the ice. We have participated in Gateway Challenges and my daughter loves to show off her skills among her peers and coaches. We have been to a couple competitions, one out of town and the coaches were kind, caring and professional. The best part about Gateway Skating Club is the special events they put on to showcase our skaters. The Ice Show for instance is so much fun for the skaters and as parents we love watching our kids perform. We are looking forward to watching our club participate in the Silver Skate again this year. Our Board Members and Coaching staff go above and beyond for this club to ensure that your skater is thriving and happy.

We were excited to enroll our kid in their club. But unfortunately the coaching is very dull. The instructors lack energy and seemed like are not keen to take on this journey with little kids. Interaction is almost nil. Little kids need demonstration, repetition and motivation. Most of the instructors failed in that. Some are just standing there like statues. It was very hard to watch as a parent to see the money go to waste and kids not even learning the bare minimum.

We signed both our kids (age 7 and 10) up for summer learn to skate camp. The kids looked forward to going each day and want to sign up for more lessons. They progressed quickly because they skated daily (M-Th) for 2 weeks. The instructors wore masks despite masks no longer being mandatory - I appreciate that, thank you! They teachers were also kind and also responded quickly to any un-safe behaviours making it safe for everyone on the ice. Highly recommend their summer camp.

Started son in pre-CanSkate at 3yrs old exactly and he was by far the youngest in his class and had ZERO skating ability (couldn’t stand on ice). The amount of dedicated time and attention they gave him blew me away. My son LOVED going to his skating lessons even though it meant cold feet, and a sore bum from falling often he kept at it because the coaches/instructors were amazing! He has progressed from unable to stand for 1-2 seconds on ice to shuffle skating 5-8m without falling, getting up and going again! Cannot recommend gateway skating clubs pre-CanSkate highly enough! Thank you all for all your dedication and caring for my son!

Was excited to get my son enrol in the program.. but it didn’t turn out how we expected.Too many kids and I feel it’s very difficult for trainers to focus on each kid and give them feedback. In the end I felt that my son was getting lost in the whole process.
