The People Behind Gateway
Gateway Auction Services Ltd. is focused on specialty livestock and general auctions in Alberta . The company is owned and operated by Gordon & Charlene Musgrove. Gordon attended the Auctioneering Institute of Canada in 2001 and received his Diploma in Auctioneering. He has worked for a number of companies as an auctioneer and/or ring man. Gordon and Charlene have worked with Schlenker Auctions for several years, buying a share of the company in 2010.
Gordon and Charlene have been involved in the production of many successful independent sales over the last 15 years including:

In addition to their auction involvement Gordon and Charlene are active in the ranching business - commercial herefords, registered longhorn’s, quarter horses and the occasional pig litter); over the years they have had small businesses - owned and operated a successful trucking company; jewellery and retail stores. As well as working hard to support the communities around them for their entire lives.
They have both served as elected official’s(Charlene as Town Councillor 1995-1998, Gordon as County Councillor, 2001-2004). Gordon was President of the Alberta Chamber of Commerce in 1991 where he actively supported rural interests.
Of particular note to the livestock industry was the 2003 BSE Border Beef Rally conceived and organized by Gordon and his team. The rally drew over 8000 people from across North America and garnered nationwide support and understanding of the critical issue.
Together Gordon and Charlene lead the Gateway team and are passionate about building strong successful auctions.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Purchased some items via the internet live consignment auction, the products come with guarantee that they work. picked up the items cleaned and inspected, found one unit not working, returned for a refund and received no hesitation on the auctions behalf. The next day I received a call from the owner of Gateway Auctions and was belittled and was told to take my Business elsewhere. Was a little shocked of the response since we have partaken in these auctions for the last couple years.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Like every auction house, there can be some sweet finds. But there is a tedium about it. You probably need to block off the whole day for, potentially, nothing. I guess this is the same as any auction. I just wish they had more and better items available. I have to call it a middle-of-the-road roll of the dice.. Not because of the individuals themselves, but of the local auctioning environment.

The staff (especially Kathy) are pleasant and accommodating making this my favorite place to attend auctions. Lots of amazing finds and the lady that runs the lunch counter has consistently delicious food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Buyers beware DON'T buy anything before seeing it in person. They will leave out significant details and damages. Purchased a electronic gaming device with some games and when I received my purchase it was far from what was described as being sold. The device didn't have a battery at all the device was in very bad shape battery cover doesn't even stay one the one game was completely broken un playable. NON of this was mentioned what so ever in the ad I even went back and checked. They take zero pride in the business with minimum effort in there auctions. I reached out to the business with zero response. There's no excuse for trying to hide damages or missing parts it takes seconds to simply take a photo of there being no battery or stating it in the details or the fact they sold me a broken game why include it in the ad at all if it's broken??
