Beautiful location, outhouses with tp, several tent pads (book in advance) and a little shelter/covered eating area

The hike was challenging in the spring with snow still covering the 2nd half of the path and large backpacks (we camped overnight) but easily doable. The barrier viewing was stunning at 6km. Garibaldi lake was still frozen over and the temperature reached - 4C in late May. It was extremely beautiful and calming. The campground had outhouse facilities and a shelter for preparing and consuming food. The birds and chipmunks were comfortable with people so please remember not to feed them.

This is an excellent campground with lots of campsites, bear hangs, cooking shelters and plenty of views to go around. You must book your site in advance and there is a pretty steep climb to get up here.

A fantastic backcountry campground on the shores of Garibaldi Lake. Reservations are required. The trail up, 9km with an elevation gain of about 800m, is steep but easy under foot (no tree roots or loose rocks). The last km is a little harder. The are a number of cook shelters and pit toilets. THERE IS NO POTABLE WATER! Bring your filtration units or tablets. The tent sites are raised wooden decks. When we were there, the water was "warm" enough for a refreshing dip after a long hike. A little further along is the Ranger cabin and a nice wooden boat dock. Definitely a place to put on your bucket list. You can do the Black Tusk and Panarama Ridge from the campground.

Worth the effort! The campground is on beautiful Garibaldi Lake, 9 km (5.5 mi) and 1000 m (3200 ft) elevation gain from the parking lot. The grade is manageable for backpacking (even some runners) and, of course, day hikers. The trail is mostly wide and maintained. Reservations required! There are 50 spreadout campsites near the lake either on wooden flats or the ground, several picnic areas with bear hangers, and restrooms. There is NO potable water- bring enough with you or treat/boil water before drinking. The lake is wonderful for a dip. Continue to Panorama Ridge (6.2 km from campground) for a phenomenal view (doable in a long day). Alternatively, black tusk (5.1 km from the campground) is a tough hike and scramble for another breathtaking view. Do your research, read signs, and proceed with caution.

One of British Columbia’s best campgrounds! This is a must stay for all backcountry campers. The tent pads are well spaced, and there are a mix of some with wooden pads and others with a dirt surface. I would recommend trying to visit on a weekday though as it can get crazy with crowds on the weekend. If you make it to the lake, you should also make sure to walk through Taylor Meadows, and climb up to Panorama Ridge and Black Tusk for the most epic view.

Prrrrretty sweet spot to camp before/after Panorama Ridge. Come early and pick a spot by the water. Outhouses and cooking shelters were clean. Camping platforms and bear caches were just fine. The lake is gorgeous. Jump right in off the dock, on a sunny day.

Nice place for a short lunch break during a 12-hour day hike. There are bugs here and the lake water is cold in the summer.
