Around 11am today (August 20) my family and I were returning to our vehicle parked outside your Squamish location to an extremely insensitive and rude encounter with one of your employees. Our truck was parked in the accessible parking spot and we have a disabled persons parking decal hung from the rear view mirror that you can clearly see from the sidewalk. Your employee walked out of your store to where we were standing, approached us and asked, “is one of you actually handicapped?”. She also informed us “everyone has been looking at this vehicle” - implying that there were many others who couldn’t believe the driver of this vehicle has a disability. My boyfriend is a medically retired army veteran who does not have a visible disability. His parking decal is completely valid and legal; he acquired it through service to his country overseas and resulting combat related injuries. Regardless of the cause, the fact that someone would be so ignorant and judgemental of another person who doesn’t LOOK disabled - and have the audacity to LEAVE THE STORE to ask if one of us is “actually handicapped” - is abhorrent.

When I was paying for the small printing service and a binder to put it in, the woman behind the counter said to me, "Next time, tell us you want it hole punched or stapled and the printer will do that automatically, no charge". I said, "Ok, great, just put that in the 'Messages' next time I upload?' "Yes", she said. I paid for my purchases and then asked, "Well then, is there are hole punch I might be able to use to put the paper in my binder?" Her response? "No, sorry, it is too late". Uhhhhhhhhhhh.....wait.....I'm in a stationary store....where I literally just dropped $25 on services and product....and the STATIONARY STORE won't pass me a hole punch to do less than 20 seconds worth of hole punching? SMH. Ok then, I'll go across the street to the bank and ask if they will lend me one for 20 seconds. What a weird, weird exchange.
C	Christine Charette on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for office supplies and crafting supplies.. they do photo copies and lament work, friendly staff. If you need celebration of life cards done they do such a fantastic job and at a very reasonable time and price. The person who does the layout can do just about anything and was super helpful in making the process easier on the family in such a time of need.
