Thanks for the quick turn around on the the order. I am thrilled with the 1/4 " bolt tongs. That will make my forging of steak turners and small stock work so much easier. They're the great quality and function that I expected coming from your shop. I am hoping though the next set I require will be of my own making. I am getting there one hammer stroke at a time. The more time I spend at the anvil, the more appreciation I get for the amazing skill and artistry you have at your craft.

I bought an angle peen hammer and it’s a beautiful piece. I buy all my local smithing materials from him.

I have ordered twice so far from Front Step Forge. I have bought several pairs of tongs and my latest purchase was a gorgeous 3lb fat peen. Service and quality has always been top notch.

Shawn forged me a custom 2.5 lb rounding hammer 2 years ago. I am still in love with this hammer! I cannot believe how well this hammer has held up as I have learned this craft. I cannot say enough good things about Shawn or his work. Highly recommended! I will be a repeat buyer. Got my eye on the new swage blocks he has in stock...

I received a FSF rounding hammer this past xmas. So have only been using it for a month now. I’m also a newb blacksmithing hobbyist (I’m a full-time HVAC Journeyman in my other life). I have to say that this 2.75lb rounding hammer is fantastic for moving metal and finish work. While I’m mostly making wall hooks, 'S' hooks, bottle openers and other beginner projects, this hammer came perfectly balanced with a handle that feels great in my hand. I modify all my wooden handles with a groove 2" from the end to aid grip placement, and that's the only mod I've made (who doesn’t personlize their favourite hammers?). I like this hammer so much, I hope to acquire a lefty diagonal pein later this year from FSF.

I deal with Shawn solely for my smithing needs. He’s incredibly talented, precise and punctual. Not to mention, very easy to deal with! That’s a rarity these days. I’d recommend front step forge to anyone, blacksmith or not to check his stuff out!

I’ve been blacksmithing for 6 years and have purchased a few things over the years from Front Step Forge. Most recently I purchased a 2lb dogs head hammer, 3 lb hammer blank with a drift and a set of heritage grade bladesmith tongs. All of the products Ive received have been exceptional quality and I am happy knowing they were forged in Canada. In order to make tools of this quality one must be very well practiced and experienced, I am extremely happy with my purchases.
