★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love their book and clothes, it's a hit or miss but hey, it's part of the experience. The staff is very friendly (especially the female staff) but when I visited a few days ago, one of the cashiers seemed upset.
All the girlies who make TikTok their personalities are complaining about not finding enough good stuff...lol, stop gentrifying shops for working class people and local folks. Whose fault do you think it is when y'all are buying stuff from thrift shops and selling them for 3x + the price on Depop lmao make it make sense

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ EDIT: prices for household items have significantly gone up, it's a shame - (bland vases, 19$ - really? I could get something brand new at winners for that amount). Thankfully despite raises in prices, clothing cost is still pretty decent (25 cents to 75 cents raises across the board) // Even when not too busy you always get stuck in aisles because carts blocks them so it's difficult to browse conveniently due to racks being so close together. Staff has always been friendly and courteous, no issues for returns.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for budget shoppers, things come and go fast. Probably that`s why it`s nearly impossible to keep the store organized. Most of the stuff are incredibly sweet and helpful. But a couple of senior stuff, especially one is extremely rude and this is not based on one time experience...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sometimes you find gems but most of the time the person who quote te price of stuff must be economically challenged. Best example is that you can find second hand stuff that is originally sold at the dollars store for more then a new one.
Edit in response to reply : It is nothing new and its not a once in a lifetime issue. This had been common practice over there for years.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've written at length about the other Renaissance stores in Montreal and how they're great value for students, people with limited means, or even environmentally conscious folk who believe in reuse.
Three things this particular store has in abundance are books, CDs and records. It's all a game of luck though and you may not find something you're specifically looking for. It's all about serendipity here. I have picked up some great books on water colors, business, and even subject text books. There's a good collection of novels as well.
Men's clothing is limited as usual with shoes almost non-existent. Women have a lot more to select from in apparel but the inventory is limited compared to the stores on St Laurents and St Hubert.
The weakest section at this store is electronics. The shelf is almost always half empty and I have yet to land a decent find here. Kitchen stuff and cutlery too is limited.
The guarded glass section at the front usually has nice sunglasses, watches, collectibles and other things they deem worth the markup. I have never bought anything from the display case.
Go there for the books and records!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice place to donate your items. Money earned from donations seem to help create jobs and other social and work training programs. The items are sold at a very cheap price and are very accessible to everyone.
The staff at this location was friendly as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ recently, I have found myself in the neighborhood on a regular basis. the shop has become one of my habitual stops, and I usually am well rewarded. the store is clean, well organized, and you can now try clothes on again. that makes buying things like pants and bathing suits much easier. I most recently came home with two brand new bathing suits at $3.50 each and felt like a winner. the folks in there are nice, and it is a good experience every time.
