★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While on vacation I stopped in at the French Creek Harbour Store to purchase a fishing license. The lady behind the counter clearly did not want to be bothered with a fishing license and after listening to all the reasons on why it would be a very difficult task, I left out of frustration and later purchased my license with no problem at Cabela's in Nanaimo. Would not purchase anything from this store.

I did a number of quite large projects while at french creek preparing for a big trip around the west coast of the island and was able to find the majority of what i needed in this little store.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great selection of fishing gear, marine maintenance items, rain gear, souvenirs and snacks. Really knowledgable owners that will treat you right. They also do fishing licences. Definitely recommend going down to French Creek Store.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was searching for some cord to repair my kayak rudder, had been to 2 other marine stores with no luck. I called French Creek Harbour Store and he told me he thought he had what I needed. I went racing down there, 5 minutes before closing. I was greeted by a very friendly helpful man who showed me what he thought would work, unfortunately it was too thick. He came up with another idea, went in the back and produced something that was almost the same as my existing cord. Because he had pulled it off a downrigger, he gave it to me no charge. I was floored. What a wonderful person and fantastic service. He sure made my day and I look forward to going back there to snoop around and see what I can buy from him. Such friendly helpful service is so rare these days.
