K	Karen Steppell on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ HORRIBLE!!! Went to this salon for an updo and makeup application for my daughters wedding! I had shown a picture of the updo, not even close! Was hideous! Same girl did the makeup! Hideous also! I returned to Affinity guest house, washed off my makeup and did my own, the hair and makeup artists hired by my daughter were horrified, after removing the approximately 50 bobby pins.. probably more, they fixed my hair, after getting through the can of hairspray the salon applied. This salon sucks.
J	Jessica on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Paid extra for an appointment with the head stylist and was disappointed. She rushed, was rude and defensive (I didn't say anything bad to her. Was just trying to make general conversion and she took it the wrong way) and didn't even do what I wanted. She tried to make it out to somehow be my fault but I've had that cut before. My guess is that she had someone booked right after me and just didn't have enough time. At least be honest.
C	Cathryn Adams on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wanted so bad to like this salon because it’s so close to my house but all 3x I tried... my highlights were orange and disappointing. Fortunately I found a another local salon who does a wonderful job, worth the extra 10 minutes of driving. I’ll never go back to freestyle. I find the owner a bit rude on top of it and their hours are very difficult to work with.
L	Lorraine Blake on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am a happy client of Freestyle Salon, and have been for more than 10 years. These ladies (particularly Renee) are professional, talented, and caring artists. I have had my hair cut, coloured, and cared for over many years and through many styles. Renee has a natural ability to cut hair. Her expert use of the scissors is to be admired. I can honestly say (even after driving to Vic for many years for a good cut) that you will not find better in the Cowichan Valley.
C	Christine :3 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very disappointed. Had my second colour and cut with the owner, who to her defense has not been well lately. You know how it is - you get home and you see the cut/colour in your own lighting, and I see that one side is about an inch longer than the other. So I call, and very lightly explain the problem and ask to come in to have it evened out. A few days later I go in, about 10 minutes early, and after 25 minutes Rene looks over at me and says she'll be another half hour. Can I come back? It was her snotty tone - the "You are being a Pain in my $%%" tone that made me almost lose it. I had to get someone to look after my kids to come back for HER mistakes. I felt SOOOOOO uncomfortable - like i had done something wrong. If you're not well - take more time off - don't take it out on your customers. Never going back.
I	Ivan Phan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They're always great to go to. They're kid friendly and my kids are almost always happy to go in. Ariel has always done a great job with my son. He's autistic and she's always worked with his needs. I can't say enough about the kind and wonderful ladies that work there. Renee is my go to for my hair cuts and I can't imagine going anywhere else. She always tries to accommodate me and my terrible schedule. Great place and where else can you go in town to get a haircut, a beer and assless chaps. My whole family goes there and we will continue to do so! I highly recommend these wonderful ladies!
L	Lisa Mallett on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Christa is so talented - she gave me the best haircut and nicest blonde highlights that I have had in YEARS! She really listens and executes exactly what you want. (And she accomplished in 2 hours what has usually taken other stylists 3.5 hours to do...so nice not to spent an entire 1/2 day in the salon). I have already recommended Christa to others. I am so happy to have found such a great stylist close by in my new neighborhood. The salon is very nice, and also has a cute boutique.
T	Taryn Vye on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I LOVE LOVE LOVE FREESTYLES! Renee, the owner, has done an amazing job at making a beautiful and relaxing salon! She is so amazing with my hair because it has a mind of its own, and I can even bring my new baby daughter with me to appointments and it’s like free babysitting when the other stylists don’t have clients! An added plus and funny experience to tell my daughter later on in life is that she was breastfeeding while Mommy was getting her yeti legs waxed! Renee was so chill and always a blast! Would 100% recommend if you’re looking for a fun salon that is warm and friendly! The stylists here treat me like family, and that is just something that you can’t find anywhere else!
