Inspiring as they are, Canada’s lakes are also in trouble. Some are already sick, and they can make us sick too. If we do nothing, the problem will keep spreading—maybe to your own favourite lake. Perhaps it’s already there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful conservation and birding complex located within just over 30min from the edge of Calgary. Most active for birding in the spring, Summer and fall months. The complex has several wetland basins, a blind structure and simple bathroom facilities.
It’s become one of the most important birding areas in Alberta and by just for waterfowl and shorebirds. The grassland adjacent to the wetlands are used heavily by many other species of migratory birds.
Check Ducks Unlimited’s website for restrictions and advisories that may be in place due to hunting activity or COVID-19.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Birds bugs and fresh air. The noise of all the birds sqwauking and chattering is unbeleivable. Grab a good camera with a long lens and go for a stroll, you wont regret it. Good shoes are recommended as some areas are soft. Sunscrean and a hat are highly recommended gor sunny days. Enjoy

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited for the first time on May 12, 2021. Amazing amount of birds, and there is a squadron, or pouch, of pelicans staying here currently. Lots of yellow headed black birds and various pipers, ducks, and gulls. A bird watcher's paradise. We can't wait to go back. Bring shoes meant to get muddy, a good zoom lens, and dress for the weather. Highly recommend.
