Great hike, as you can see it was pretty snowy, the hike up is steep and a bit icy when we did it in early March. We are a 'young' group of adults and we managed in just boots without crampons or snow shoes. Going back down we were sliding down sideways a lot so that should give you an idea for how slippery it was. View at the top was great. Nice little placard of the history of lake Louise. Great view of the lake and the hotel. The path wasn't busy when we went in the late morning. Overall at a decent pace it was less than an hour hike up, only about 1.5km from the hotel apparently. Highly recommended as a quick fun hike if you're in the area.

Relatively easy hike - but straight uphill to the lookout. Harder for younger kids, and not a stroller friendly walk. (Easily doable for kids 6+ or in carriers). Not as highly trafficked as the other side of Lake Louise, and the walk back down is a breeze!

I would give the hike a 1 star only because the information listed on the Parks Canada website was incorrect. It’s listed as 100 meter elevation gain 1km one way easy hike. The hike is actually 1.6km one way, 140 meters elevation gain and quite steep so you should use hiking shoes for the downhill. I saw lots of people struggling and families with young children leaving behind strollers mid hike. The view is only trees until you get to the top where there is a small lookout giving a unique view of Lake Louise, while it is beautiful it does not compare to the view from the bottom. It’s an okay hike if you’re looking for a workout but there are better hiking options in the area.

Best viewpoint for Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Hotel. Short walk from the lake. To hikers who going for the longer trails towards Fairview Mountain or Saddle Pass it worth to walk extra 1.5 kilometers on the way back or forth to see that scenery

This is a 1.6 km hike. If you're not a well experienced hiker, it's a difficult trail. Definitely not an easy one, as it's 1.6km each way of a really steep hike for the entire duration of the trail. Once you get to the view point, the views are incredible. Highly recommend this one if you're looking for a short hike with an amazing view of lake Louise and the famous hotel. Take it slow and with breaks. The hike past the viewpoint is currently closed.

One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. The lake is glorious the view is breathtaking. Lake starts to thaw out in June. Temp is cold roughly 40-50 degrees in June.

Lake Louise was lovely, but make sure not to forget all the other lovely lakes. Some, even more beautiful than Louise, and less touristy.

Excellent views overlooking Lake Louis. Highly recommend going here to take photographs or for a scenic hike. There is still lots of snow even in mid may so I suggest you to bring hiking boots. No public washrooms available during this season, but if you sneak into Fairmont Hotel, near the restaurant overlooking the lake, there is washrooms nearby.
