We love our new Excel build in Sunset Ridge! The sales team was amazing! We have been especially happy with Kathy and Angela. Even though Kathy had to transition us to a new sales team, and eventually to Angela, we were never left in the dark and any issues we had were always addressed quickly and to satisfaction. The construction team with Excel is amazing. They got us into our home earlier than we ever expected and they have been nothing but accommodating. Nathan is so approachable and makes the building process feel so personalized. We have had zero issues so far with our home, and we could not be happier!

Overall, the first year has been bad. Not the little house of horrors, but lots of problems, big and small. I honestly believe that this company has no Quality Assurance team and no standards. Understanding that a home built during Covid can have some issues due to limitations on how many people can go into a home during construction, but when the foreman states they can't go into a home to look at the construction along the way, you know you will be in trouble. Poor quality EVERYTHING. Poor quality trades work, poor quality building materials, major issues with things breaking and cracking. Honestly so much to list. Do your research and spend a bit more to go with another builder. Don't say you weren't warned.

Our house was built by Excel in 2020. We couldn't imagine a more poorly built home. The house has had so many problems and issues. The driveway, garage pad, leaking showers, squeaking floors, brutal fixtures and so much more. Spend a few thousand dollars more and go with a different builder. Too many bad things to list. Do your research. Be warned.

Excel has been amazing to work with. The sales rep was personable and easy to work with. The site manager was great at explaining and communicating with us about our new build. The team that assists you with moving arrangements, settling in and the legal components have all been great to work with as well. We are very excited about our new Excel home!

Excel home is the most insensitive and selfish builder I have ever encountered. They denied closing my property even after providing the cheque less than 12 hrs after the closing date, I pleaded with them, but Rob refused to grant me 24 hrs extension And they had the guts to send me the exact property with all the finishing selected by me even though they claim in their new listing that it was designer chosen with an additional 29% increase in price in less than a month. They are insensitive to their client's situation, and I regret working with this builder. This whole incident has affected me mentally and emotionally

We built our house in 2014, and have had none stop issues. Most were small at the time and we could deal with it. Here are our 3 biggest and ON GOING issues. Issue 1. But when we noticed our house would not heat past the first floor ( we have three floors) they said it was normal. We fought for a long time, had several customer representatives out and they said it's normal for the house. Have us statements like" the thrid floor will get some heat, then sun will do the rest". " Keep all your vents closed and maybe it will heat". Told us the furance is the right size and everything was fine. But clearly it's not. We have had several HVAC people tell is our furance is defective and needs to be replaced. A 7yr old furnace is defective already?! Issue 2. Constant attic ice leading to a soggy ceiling, ruined drywall, warped attic hatches, damaged lights, damaged molding, and who knows what else is happening in the attic. Yes I know chinooks can cause attic frost and some moisture. But the amount we have been getting is more than just a small amount. It rains from any possible opening or crack whenever it starts to warm up. We tried dealing with this after it happened the second year, and were brushed off saying our warranty is up and we don't deal with that. We fought and fought for someone to come out. And finally when we did the "new customer rep" only does fencing and decks. Pardon? Long story short he was useless and had no idea what he was doing or looking for. We tried to get someone else and they never called us back. We tried up until COVID and low and behold when someone was going to come out, lockdown. Issue 3. Moisture in our basement. Front and back wall both bottom plates are turning black and are very soft. The concrete walls are all very well. Floor is constantly wet. Had the same fence and deck guy look at it and shrugged. Now there is a large crack that is raised that extends from one wall to the other. Frankly I don't know what to do about that. Excel needs to answer for this. I have 2 young kids and can't have them exposed to toxic mold. ANHW doesn't care and won't do anything. Excel played around so much and avoid any questions for 7 years that we have major issues on our hands. Other folks have had issues in Copperfield, So I am not lone. These people are crooks. Don't care about customers. And don't get me started on the buying process. The lady we had in sales was awful.

Worst post sales customer care. No follow up from construction manager Josip, knowing that an install job is delayed and you do not hear from him really after offering his name as point of contact. MIA Jason C after all concerns were raised. Lip service all throughout and no one in their leadership team dare reach out to properly escalate and resolve the issue. Had to exert much effort just to get things done accordingly and still be delayed for a lengthy amount of time, 6 months YTD. I had hoped that their associates were truly genuine and after a bunch of apologies and missed commitments, from that point on, I do not know how to believe in them moving forward. Maybe that is were they Excel the most.

I built with Excel Homes in the community of Carrington and took possession on June 2020. I have had the worst experience with Excel Homes and will never recommend this poorly managed company to anyone. Their poor workmanship is unimaginable and a nightmare to live with, they have provided terrible customer service experience at all levels. More concerning is at times when they attempted to repair something they simply damaged other components while not being able to fix the initial issue. It's a very frustrating process given that buying a home is the biggest investment of people's lives. They have made the process of owning a new home nothing but stressful combined with lots of uncertainty and anxiety. Their slogan is "Simplifying your journey home" but that is completely false as with their poor workmanship, poor customer service and unwillingness to do thighs right from the beginning, unfortunately they have only complicated the whole process of buying a new home for me. Some of the defects and deficiencies are but not limited to: -Multiple cracks in the foundation resulting in water getting into the basement -Water leak from the roof on the porch as the result of shingles not being installed properly -Water leak from soffits creating puddles of water in the backyard, close to the foundation -Roof shingles were not glued down properly and were loose in different spots causing them to flip and flap while being windy out, this caused a loud and scary banging noise inside the house (It took Excel several months to finally repair this issue and it took multiple visits from their different trades, and in the end I had to find which shingles were loose myself and point them out in order for this to finally get resolved) During this time it was challenging for my family and I to be able to get a goodnight sleep as the noise was very loud throughout the house -House not being painted properly from the beginning (thin paint, stains and damaged walls) When they attempted to fix this and perform touch ups, they used the wrong paint causing unmatched paint on the walls, having to repaint the effected walls again on a different day -LVP floors were deeply scratched in various spots as the result of their workers carelessly dragging the appliances on a new build home with brand new floors -Various Ceiling Cracks The full list is too long to post on here I took possession on June 22, 2020 and up until today's date (Jan 24, 2022) there are still deficiencies and defects that require repairs There have been many visits from their workers, staff and management to my home in order to try and take care of the many defects/issues, these countless and never ending visits have taken a toll on my personal and work life as I have been working from home since March 2020. Excel's poor workmanship, inability to build right from the beginning and requiring multiple attempts to repair a defect/deficiency caused heavy foot traffic to my home during a global pandemic, endangering and jeopardizing health and wellbeing of my family and I. I have allocated many hours of my personal and work life to having to chase their warranty team to book the required repairs, show proof/evidence of issues, and taking time off work to adhere to their workers coming back many times to try and perform the required repairs. To make things worse there have been days that the repairs were booked for a certain day and I took the day off work for it , but their workers simply did not show up and had to reschedule last minute. in addition to everything mentioned above their workers continuously drove their trucks and equipment all over my property (I own a corner lot) causing damages. Their workers lack of respect for the neighborhoods they work in and the people who live there was apparent from the way they kept throwing garbage all over, damaging property, while practicing foul behavior. Their functional floor plan is the only thing I am happy with but I definitely can not recommend this poorly managed company based on my incredibly poor experience with them.
