Very sound biblical teaching (expository, verse-by-verse) and corporate worship for all ages. Strong emphasis on submission to the Scriptures, the holiness of God, family discipleship, edification of the local church, outreach in the local community, and God-glorifying relationships and acts of service. No cliques... Just genuine fellowship celebrated here. *****

The pastor is not kind, but arrogant. He insists on his own way. He says he rejoices with the truth, but loves misinformation. He is not someone that models Christ, and is not someone to be followed.
E	Esther S on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My family attended this church for around 4—5 years. At first we had a positive experience. Many of the people there are kind, and were our close friends. However, in the last year of attending we began to realize some of the issues with the church. The focus of the sermons was almost exclusively on judgement, the wrath of God, and suffering. This was often to the exclusion of topics such as love, grace, and joy. Sermons would also often make fun of other traditions such as Catholicism and Pentecostalism, fostering disunity with other believers. There wasn't room for criticism since this one church believed it had everything right, and anyone who disagreed on any theological point was discredited. I know of a number of other people who have left this church with similar experiences. I also know of a few people who were excommunicated from the church for reasons that many at Encounter and almost everyone outside of it would think are insubstantial. My own experience at Encounter was very damaging to my faith and spiritual journey. It caused me to believe for a long time (wrongly, I know) that all Christians are judgemental, even to other believers, and unwilling to listen to other points of view.
