β β β β β This is the worst employee insurance benifits company ever. Did not cover treatment. Was discriminated against and they accused my dentist of fraudulent behavior. Do not use this insurance company, there are many better providers out there.

β β β β β Not the best insurance place. The man that I spoke to was condescending and not understanding. Empire life needs to train their employees better. Also, many places don't directly bill to Empire life since it's not a big company. Better insurance place would definitely be Sunlife.

β β β β β I phoned to inquire about the benefit plan on behalf of a colleague. The customer service representative (female with accent) asked for my name and birth date. I told her "hang on, let me step out of the office" because I was going to share my personal information, and wanted privacy. But she started to argue with me "you don't know your own name? why can't you tell me your name right away?". Then, when I asked her why she is talking to me in a negative tone, she denied completely. So, I asked her if she had an employee ID or name. She said "I don't have an employee ID, but my name. Give me some time". I told her, I can wait. Then, after a couple of minutes passed, I asked her again, how long do you need to give me your name? Then, she hang up on me. I am sure not everyone who works for Empire Life acts like this, but this person is what she is representing Empire Life, hence 1 star.

β β β β β Horrible customer service and website sucks, not user friendly at all. Called multiple times about a benefit that didn't get paid and about my benefits not getting covered and I kept getting answers like "we'll look into and call you back" or "I'll escalate it to thee claims team to review" but never heard back. Have to call repeatedly to chase them for answers.
Website is also hard to navigate with incomplete info. A drug claim was paid one time but after I submitted another claim on the same drug, it was rejected. Called and still waiting for customer service to resolve this.
