T	Tammy Kliss on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DO NOT USE THIS ACCOUNTING SERVICE! Had the worst experience with this accounting firm. We started with Saphire for our personal accounting then started a small business and used Emerald which is for the business clients. This was a very poor choice which left us open to audits from the CRA. We were a brand new business at the time and not generating any sales. We chose to terminate our business with Emerald to save money. It then truly got interesting! We were told to submit monies every month into CRA Payroll by Andrea, the owner, or we would be fined heavily. Well we were so new we didn’t even have generated income and therefore the money given to government is gone forever and what’s worst Emerald generates a T4 for 2018 and 2019 and my husband had to claim on income he never received as employment income. Horrible advice for a new company just starting out which had no actual sales. This error alone ended up costing us approx $5,000 which is no small sum when you are a new business! Also when I called and complained after learning all Emerald’s mistakes no one ever called me back! Worst accounting service and worst customer service! I would never ever recommend this accounting firm to anyone! I would have done better doing it all by my self, even though I knew absolutely nothing about small business accounting!

As a business owner, I have so much on my plate to deal with, they have saved me countless hours of extra work, they take care of my book keeping and all accounting services for me from start to finish. They even offer to pick up your paperwork, again time saved so I can focus on my company and not paperwork. They always explain everything thoroughly and if I don’t understand something, they go the extra mile to make sure any confusion is cleared up. I trust them with my business and am extremely happy with their service. If you’re an entrepreneur looking to save time, money, and headaches, Emerald is the accounting service you need in your life!

I quit for another accounting charging less and even i already paid Emerald without an refund possible, i still save money. We you start a new business, you don't have a lot of money and this is why it is important to know this accounting service is not appropriate for. And more, they are requesting you so much job sending all printed papers and do their work, then they are not offer stress release. Now with my new accounting, i just send all digital so it is quick and they do all sorting for you. Yes, it is possible send just all files from your computer for the accounting.

They always got back to me in a timely manner and helped to make me alot of money. High level of professionalism and very reasonable fees. Highly recommend for anyone starting a small corporation or thinking about contracting!

Ive used them for close to a decade and they were great at the beginning. The last few years I was paying a ridiculous amount of taxes. I finally had a third party review all my books. They were shocked how little this company was doing for me. I fired Emerald and went with someone else. They saved me about $25000 on my 2021 fees compared to Emerald. I was told that I should be at least $100000 richer than I am now had I hired a competent accountant years ago. Emerald seems to find any reason not to save you money. Their main goal seems to be not triggering an audit. Maybe they got more clients than they can handle or maybe they just got lazy. Like I said I don’t like talking ill about anyone but if I had known what I know now I’d have at least 100k more in the bank. That is a very conservative estimate. Find someone that works for you not against you.
