Dr. Aitken deserves a five star rating and is likely the most thorough and highly qualified individual in his field in the city. I come totally unbiased as a newcomer to Calgary who recently decided to obtain treatment at his facility after much research. Dr. Aitken and his practice treated me for a chronic issue I've been experiencing since being critically injured about five years ago in a sporting accident. Since then, I've seen and experienced every modality of treatment from doctors, specialists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists with few results and the typical "bandaid" approach - treat symptoms and fail to get to the bottom of it. Dr. Aitken attentively listened to every symptom or injury I've experienced and gave me the time of day to listen and feel out my injuries. Further, he rapidly delved into possible causes and was legitimately interested in getting to the bottom of it. Upon the first visit he assessed me very thoroughly and reviewed causative factors. He immediately knew some of my chronic issues and took the time to teach me what was occurring in my neck and shoulder girdle on a mechanistic level. He also did take some time to conduct adjustments and diagnostics to further develop the understanding of my issues which included range of motion tests, strength tests, imbalances, etc. I can honestly say he is in a league of his own and I will highly recommend his services to friends and family going forward. I got more in the one hour from his expertise and services than I have ever in my life and am very thankful for that.

Stay away from this quack β€˜doctor’. All he wanted was my money. I suffered severely with a lower back injury and he never diagnosed me correctly. Either he didn’t know what I had or he kept that info to himself to string me along. He never gave me any exercises or stretches for me to do on my own and when I asked him why he wouldn’t prescribe exercises, he said I wasn’t ready (?!) and to just book an extended appointment (at a higher rate) so he could β€˜help’ me. He didn’t want me to get better or for me to help myself when I was in pain so I would HAVE to rely on him. Anything he did to β€˜help’ me only made me feel worse. He was also condescending and rude whenever I asked him questions related to my back ailment and always told me to book and appointment and he would answer my questions and give me exercises at the next appointment. After 4 appointments he never gave me any answers or exercises/stretches to help release my pain so I stopped seeing him as I was throwing away my money and getting progressively worse! I should have seen my family doc first. After giving up on Kevin’s β€˜treatment’ my doctor at FIRST glance knew which disc was herniated based on my classic symptoms. (Radiating sciatic nerve pain and foot weakness.) If you feel like wasting time, throwing away your money, feeling worse and NEVER getting straight forward answers he’s the chiropractor for you! Because of Kevin Aitken I will NEVER trust chiropractors ever again. Go see a physiotherapist instead.

Definitely stay away from this chiropractor. I went to him for a lower back injury during the week of October 15, 2018. On the third visit, it became abundantly clear that he was aware of how to fix the problem but had a hidden agenda to milk it. I was getting temporary relief that lasted an hour or so after the first two visits. However, in the third visit he appeared to be more interested in extending the process as long as he could. He became arrogant, egotistical and resorted to β€˜I am the Doctor’ condescending statement when I called his hidden agenda. He tried covering this up with socializing talk instead of focusing on treatment. He messed up my third treatment so badly that I ended up in the ER at Foothills with excruciating pain and extremely constrained mobility. I am writing this review from the ER room. Stay away from this chiropractor.

I started going to Edge to see Dr. Aitken at someone's referral. I have not been disappointed. As an instructor of Active Release Techniques, Kevin has the knowledge and experience to help me deal with whatever I'm dealing with. Kevin pays attention to the symptoms and dealing with pain but he also tries to help you determine the cause and helps you develope ways to avoid future issues. As an athlete himself, Kevin understands the rigors of training and competing. This helps him understand what's happening to you and what needs to happen to get you back doing what you love.

Dr Aitken tailored for me a few routine sets of exercises to alleviate my compromised spinal column after a bad fall. He also did some adjustment to my spine. He is knowledgable, professional and from my opinion the best in this field. He's very friendly and there is no waiting for your appointments. Despite the fact that I'm an old person the results have been undeniable achieved.

I've been seeing Dr. Aitken for at least 8 years. He is absolutely wonderful and I can't say enough great things about his treatments. Before I saw him the first time, I was wearing knee braces on both knees when I golfed. I can say with extreme confidence, that after Dr. Kevin's treatments, I've thrown away the knee braces years ago and now enjoy the ability to run, golf, cycle, and walk free of pain or discomfort. Dr. Kevin has also been able to help with me with my posture at work, has given me numerous helpful exercises to correct my bad 'posture habits'. The most recent success story was my laser treatment for my sore shoulder. After the first treatment, I felt better then I had in a long time. Dr. Kevin takes the time to get to know you. He has a genuine interest in your hobbies and sincerely wishes you well in enjoying those hobbies free of pain. I have recommended Dr. Kevin to several co-workers and will continue to recommend him.
