★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We really loved the eco lodge! It is very clean, well run and the breakfast is simple but really good. The staff is awesome!! Not to mention the Darwin Cafe and Botanical Gardens which are both beautiful!!

Home made muffins for breakfast and tea at any time. Need to wash your own dishes. Friendly staff . It is also quiet because there are only 10 rooms.
Make sure to explore the garden and the boardwalk.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is a paradise. Super clean, super friendly staff and beautiful location. They have tea all day and breakfast included (the muffins are the best!!). You can use the kitchen as well. And there are boardgames and a comfy lounge. Surrounding the space is a botanical garden and teaching site for sustainability. It is an extensive area with access to a private beach. The cafe is a cute place as well!! All in all, many cool amenities and great location for surfing and walking around the forest.
One last point I would like to highlight is their focus on sustainability. They use their own organic, locally made bath products. They encourage you to bring your own bottle for their naturally filtered water. The hold frequent educational seminars on sustainability on site. This is a conservationist's/biologist's dream. They even have a copy of Darwin's "On the Origin of Species" on each desk. The bible of biology. Very nice touch. I love this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's cute and in a convenient location. The garden is pretty (although don't expect to find exotic plant varieties) with interesting art sculptures. There is a path that leads out to an area with a nice view of the water. There are resident roosters! It really is an "ecolodge" though. No TV in the room; most rooms don't come with private bathroom; no room service that I know of; must rinse your dishes after eating the breakfast. The breakfast spread included hot oatmeal, freshly baked muffins, bread, orange juice, coffee/tea, milk, and some fruits. My friend and I spent $180 for the twin bedroom without private bathroom. The beds were decent- not super comfortable. Sound proofing isn't great and the floor boards in the hallways creak quite a bit. But everything was clean and tidy! Havent checked out Darwin's Cafe but looked cute!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A well-run, clean and simple place to stay. Breakfast was simple but good, bed was comfortable, and bathrooms were clean. I didn’t enjoy having to go upstairs to use the women’s washroom (or, for men sleeping upstairs, having to go downstairs) but that is to be expected in a hostel-like accommodation. Overall, the lodge is located in a gorgeous garden and natural setting and is located close to downtown. A good no-frills place to rest your head.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My partner and I stayed here four nights. This place was perfect for us! Kitchen was amazing and well equipped with everything. Everything was very clean and organised. 20 or so minute walk into town, close to surf beaches, the brewery and Tacofino! Be sure to visit the Botanical Garden (we received free entry and a coffee), and check out the view along the board walk. We ended up watching the sunrise and sunset there. Would recommend and visit again.
