Eco Medical Equipment - Edmonton

We had Menox hand controls installed in our vehicle on August 17, 2016. We ended up staying an extra night because we weren't sure the install could be completed. We drove out of the lot after a 5 minute instruction on how the system worked and I noticed immediately that the brake pedal felt less touchy, but attributed this to the change in wiring. We drove home the following day on the QE2 and thank goodness no one ever cut us off on the highway. When my son drove later that night using the hand controls, he was involved in an accident that damaged 4 cars. When using the hand control was used to brake, it also engages the gas and revs the engine, causing the car to surge ahead. If this had happened on the highway the situation could have been much worse. Eco Medical was immediately notified via their 24 hr hotline and the response to the question of liability was 'we met the lawyers deal with it'. We got legal advice and the lawyer said not to return it for them to 'fix'. As soon as we told them we had talked to a lawyer they assumed this meant we were suing and it has been a nightmare ever since. Intact insurance has been handling things for both sides and there has been no resolution despite two independent inspectors coming to view and video the installation. The manager has attempted to implicate my son as the cause of the accident but they have not provided imus with any safety I spection or test drive report and have not made any attempt to resolve the situation. The supplier of the controls attempted to make things right by offering to send new controls to an installer of our choice, but then told the new installer we were suing so he is hesitant to get involved. This entire ordeal cost $2598 and our vehicle is undrivable. This might have been ok had we not been treated so poorly by the manager. Buyer Beware. Just because they are licensed does not mean they know what they are doing, or that they will be accountable.

So happy I discovered this place. The friendly staff knew my situation inside out and got my pointed in the right direction. The service people were guru level too. I was sent to Eco by a health care worker and I can see why; you just cant find service like this in Edmonton. Life long customer now!

I purchased an attachment for my manual folding wheelchair from a company in the States I called Echo Medical to confirm, as the local dealer, whether they could assemble it. I spoke to Tony who was very knowledgeable, extremely helpful and explained why the attachment would not fit my particular wheelchair which allowed me to cancel the order and of course saved me the cost. I needed to rent a wheelchair for my mom as she lost all her mobility and Haven was most kind and wonderful and patient with my dad on the phone to make the arrangements and then with me when I came to the store to pick the wheelchair up. He had all the paperwork ready and showed me how to fold and reassemble the wheelchair. Thank you so much Haven, you've made this stressful time in our lives a little bit easier to handle.

Eco-medical and I go way back to the 90s, and I used to send my friends to them, confident they would have a good experience and great customer service. After all, they treated me like gold. However, my last two interactions with them have not been so positive. I thought the first was a fluke, this happened several years ago. A tire almost came off my chair within hours after its return for routine maintenance. Fortunately I was within blocks of home and I managed to drive the chair home. They were fast in picking up the chair and getting it back to me. It cost them a pretty penny to repair (on their dime) as the loose tire did a lot of damage to the chair. I passed it off as a 'life happens' experience. However, my latest experience with this company has destroyed my trust in the company. The government agreed to put necessary repair approval on the fast track, given my circumstances. The government actually called ME when EcoMedical's estimate hadn't yet arrived on their desk after 10 days. The government's approval of the estimate 'never arrived' according to Eco-Medical, and so i emailed my copy of the approval letter, at Eco's request. 10 days later, after no call from Eco to say they received my email, I phoned, and lo and behold the 'lost email' from me appeared. A month after that phone call, i finally got my chair back. As our population ages and as the disabled assert their rights to fair and equal treatment, I strongly suggest Eco-Medical works on their customer service. We are a growing percentage of the population and we will take our business elsewhere, if we find service is not acceptable.

Wonderful Staff and Service! I've been dealing with Eco Medical for close to 8 years and have never been disappointed by their service. Please understand that if you want and expect their undivided attention, you need to make an appointment, as they will prioritize their attention to those whom have done so. I go in for power-chair repairs and always leave with my chair having satisfactorily been repaired, or with an appointment to do so (due to a part needing to be ordered. They have never failed me, and even banned one lady after she came in swearing in front of my two young (at the time) daughters. They try to establish themselves as being at the top, and that's where they stand.

I have received excellent service from all staff and management at Eco Medical in Edmonton in various departments. Staff respond to calls and emails professionally, gave professional and quality work, and although equipment may take time to receive do to various factors, they gave exceptional customer service! Thank you very much for your support and support to people who are in need to all kinds of equipment you go above and beyond to help!

I needed a wrist brace and was recommended to check out Eco Medical for one. I didn’t realize they would have that type of product there, I thought they only dealt in wheelchairs and scooters and such. Maritza helped me choose the type of brace that would work for me and gave me a couple of options to try on. I was surprised at how reasonably priced they were and left the shop with a brace that is comfortable and works for me. Thank you Maritza for your excellent service!
