We recently went to the Eat Claire distillery speakeasy for lunch. The service was ok. It was explained that someone did not show up for a shift but even with two people mostly helping us and a third jumping in (there were only 5 tables with people at the time) service was just ok. The mixed drink I had was great. An excellent version of a sour. The food. Just ok again. The Montreal smoked meat was not a true one. (Cheese added. Wrong bread. Meat not sliced or stacked right. Bread toasted. A Vink get instead of brine pickle. People who had the panini and the grilled cheese could not really tell the two apart. It’s a great venue. And hopefully as they get more experience, the customer experience improves. Originally I thought I would use the venue for events but I’m not sure I would go back unless someone had something. Planned there. Not a bad experience but not great either.

Went with my father today for an early Father's Day treat. The Speakeasy patio was beautiful and busy but I knew the drinks were worth the wait as I have been before. There was 4 of us, 2 ordered gin flights and 2 ordered ceasar flight (was excited as I love ceasars). We ordered food at the same time. Our food came in a reasonable amount of time, but they didn't have chicken for our second sandwich. Why wouldn't you say this before bringing the food as one person sat there waiting for their sandwich while the rest of us had food. Finally after 45 minutes, the 2 gin flights come out but they didn't have ingredients to make the caesar ones. After 60 minutes (ONE HOUR) I finally had a drink in front of me. I know the menu says the drinks take time to make but this is ridiculous and not good customer service.

Family of mine live in Turner Valley & they alway rant & rave about this distillery. Since we were visiting, and they only live 1 block away, I decided to walk over. The Christmas Gin is what made me check out Eau Claire & right off the hop I was impressed. Everything about it is appealing to the eye. I would like to return in the spring/summer, when seating outside would be possible but there were happy patrons seated inside. I picked up too many & was sent back the next day to grab more for friends & family who heard about my experience. We dealt with a very lovely lady who gave us a tasting & although I didn’t get a big bottle, I did enjoy it! Definitely a HUGE selection from bottles to merch. I really loved their story & how they go about making their liquors as well as reading about all their copious awards!!!

Wow. I think we might be hearing only one side of a story here. My brother in laws shop at the Eau Claire booth regularly and they always comment how much they love the representative that works there. They say she is always friendly and makes a huge effort to make you feel welcome. I have shopped there myself and found the service delightful and products unique and great quality. Something is not adding up here.

Very unique and pleasant atmosphere. After we were seated it took 10 minutes to get our menus. It then took another 10 minutes for our waitress to come back and take our order. I asked for a water which never came. We waited a good 15 minutes and the bartender had not even started making our drinks. Our waitress had disappeared in the back (making our food?) very disappointing as we live in the area and we’re excited to try something new. Very short staffed obviously.

I am so sorry to write this review. I like to support local but we had the worst experience at the Mother's Day tea event at the Speakeasy. The event was poorly organized, we waited outside for 20 minutes while watching boxes of store bought appetizers go in for us. Finally the door was opened to see the trays of sad cakes and cookies haphazardly stacked. Presentation was awful. We waited patiently for our drinks order and that was a challenge as well. Ordering a pot of tea!!! was extremely difficult and the staff member had to have a meeting if it was possible. While waiting for the drinks, another staff member came by to stack croissant on the precarious tower. We asked if we would be provided plates, she replied she had no idea. Finally paper plates and prewrapped plastic cutlery showed up. My son tore into an uncooked doughy croissant which was the final straw. The price point of this was comparable to Bow Valley Ranchouse or the Ridge in Okotoks. Quite frankly don't waste your money. It would take alot to get us back through the doors ever again.

What a terrific surprise...excellent interesting vibe....completely unexpected find, so happy to have enjoyed food and beverages here. Staff were tremendously helpful, friendly. The Ceaser "flight" was fantastic.. Nachos the best ever and the Chacuterie Board was a hit. We will definitely come again.

They definitely capture the Speakeasy vibe here. This converted town hall building has interesting design features including a circular staircase and high rounded ceilings. I enjoyed the unique flavours of my β€œ7 Deadly Gins” flight of 4.
