E&E Kennels - Stony Plain

According to our vet in Spruce Grove - had our dog been taken to the vet clinic a few days earlier she would have lived for a week to a month longer. We would have had a chance to say goodbye to our precious dog. According to the vet(s) they have wrote us a letter ( which I will be posting on here - on the news - and sending to E & E ) that explains how an employee had brought our dog into the clinic - and had only checked up on her after she fell out of her bed and said that they had thought she was dead. They also said they had no idea when the last time she had ate or drank water. We also requested camera footage from the kennel and they agreed to send that to us - I wanted to make sure our dog was attended to properly. I called today and they say that the video camera that is in that kennel is down - and that I can contact E & E's lawyer and insurance company. This is a tragic experience and I will not recommend kenneling a dog to anyone.

My older dog is nearly 10, and my younger is 7. Both have gone to E&E for most of their grooms and boarding over the course of this time. My husband picked our older dog up from his grooming appointment and took him for a Timbit right after. He noticed incessant licking, and he was digging his head into the seat. Then he noticed he was frothing. When he opened his mouth he could see that he one tooth was missing and another was loose. His paw was also bleeding as he had a small cyst inside his paw area that had been cut. We called the vet right away and they took us in as a drop off. Turns out there's one missing, they had to pull the loose one but a piece remained in his gum and will likely have to be surgically removed, and there are two more that are loose and would have to be removed. The vet tech said he likely smacked his face on the table at the groomer. So I called them to explain what happened and to ask if there had been an incident with him. I did not suspect anything malicious at all and the cyst could have easily been missed and cut by accident. The lady said that the groomer had left for the day but she was trying to get in touch with her. I said thank you, and hung up. Pleasant enough conversation. Just before 6 she called me again to say she was leaving for the day but hadn't gotten through to the groomer. She then said, maybe the crunchy timbit did it. I said no, I don't think a timbit would do that. She said ok, well if you don't hear from us first thing, call back tomorrow. Again, thank you, and hung up. I waited until 3:00 the next day and there as still no call, so I called. I spoke to Avery. She said that she spoke with the groomer and that she said he was favouring his leg so she checked and didn't see anything there. She then said that his breath and teeth were disgusting. That's when I knew she was lying because there's nothing wrong with his teeth or breath and I have a vet to prove it. He also was not favouring his leg, and he still isn't favouring his leg now. I expected her to say, sorry but no, we don't know of anything that could have happened, but instead, she went on to outright lie. I said that's BS and I hung up on her as I knew at that point, she was not being forthright. She then emailed me to say that she believed her groomer and that she herself had been sitting there the entire time and if anything would have happened, she would have heard it. Yes, I'm sure she sat there the entire day. She said she would refund my money but would not tolerate verbal abuse, didn't appreciate the accusation, and would not do anything else for me. I was not being verbally abusive, but thought it was bizarre that's where she went, to the money and thinking I was after something. I explained she could keep her money, and I definitely do not want anything from them. Not once did she ask how he was doing now. It was all defensiveness and flat out lies. A simple, we are not aware if anything happened, but how is he doing? Would have sufficed. Guilty parties tend to go on and on with more detail. If they lied about this, makes me wonder what else they would lie about so for that reason I will never go back there. I will gladly share our back and forth emails and the pictures and video of my dog as I'm sure they will deny deny deny this incident.

I bring my dogs and cat for kenneling, grooming and training at E&E Kennels. I have always been impressed by the exceptional care they have received by the staff. The entire facility has always been very clean and well maintained, which I find very important at a pet facility. I would definitely recommend E&E to family and friends.

Love E & E! The staff are wonderful. Facilities are always clean. Have been taking our dogs there since we moved to Spruce Grove 9 years ago. When we pick them up, they seem less stressed then when we have had to take them elsewhere. And they are always exhausted, which means they have had lots of exercise during their stay. My only advice is Book Early to avoid disappointment. They fill up fast, hence why we have tried a couple other kennels. If going away for longer than a couple days, we won't leave them anywhere else, but E & E!

We have been taking our two dogs to E&E Kennels for 6 years and they do an outstanding job looking after them. My one dog has medical issues and they go out of their way to provide outstanding care for her. Both dogs are always excited to go and their grooming services are really good. The staff is friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this kennel.

They were great with my special needs dog as she does not like other dogs. She liked the girls and the staff was pleasant with me as well. Will use them again if we need to?

My girl had her first day of daycare here yesterday and I am very impressed and happy. I toured the place ahead of time and was impressed with the set up, and the nice big yards for the dogs to play in. I also like the fact that they keep the play groups small and match up dogs based on size and personality. And it's not constant play, there are breaks for some downtime which I think is important. My dog was super happy when I picked her up, and was all tuckered out when we got home. The girls that work there are friendly and helpful. Without a doubt my dog will be back!
