★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to a play at Durham Shoestring Performers last night, "Dead Man's Cellphone". I really enjoyed it. It was a funny play that was really well done. The acting was good, as were the production values. Durham Shoestring performs its shows in a small lecture room (it holds about 125 people) in the Arts Resource Centre near King W & Centre, beside Oshawa City Hall. But they make that lecture room work so well as a theatre. DSP is popular and has a large following. Their mandate is to perform unusual plays that other bigger community theatres would not usually produce. "Dead Man's Cellphone" was definitely an unusual play but I really enjoyed it. Durham Shoestring is a great community theatre to visit.
