Duran's teaching style is so motivating it COMPELS you to make time to practice. Duran has an innate gift of intuitively knowing where his students are, where they need to go and how to get them there. He is a consummate professional always looking to get better at his crafts: teaching and drumming. If you are even slightly considering taking lessons - do it - and take them with Duran! You will be stoked that you did.

I am an intermediate/ advanced drummer, and I hit a big plateau in my playing and I communicated that to Duran from the get go. He listened to my issues that I've been dealing with in my playing, and helped me single in on a few concepts that would direct me into more focused and driven practice time. He proceeded to lay down exercises that have since challenged me and taken me into a more creative space. Duran was patient, communicated concisely, and proved to me that he has a wide understanding of the drums. For future students, this is what you should be looking for in a drum instructor/teacher. Duran has already got me playing along to some songs which is a lot of fun and keeps me motivated to keep practicing.
