I used to really like this place when Dr Pat McLure was there but she recently left and I haven't found the other vets to be as kind and compassionate as she was. I recently had to put one of my kitties down on a Sunday and I called the following day to speak to my regular vet to update her. She did not call me back that day and when she did the following day she left a message that just said we'd expected that but not a word about being sorry to hear that or anything kind. I was very disappointed because I've been going there for 25 years. I also find the staff at the front to be a little cold. Having been there so often the last few months with my sick kitty I would expect a more familiar welcome. I'm thinking about switching vets now. The place that helped me on the Sunday was wonderful. Everyone, even the staff at the front were very warm. I have two kitties left now and I may take them there instead.

I arranged for a friend to go there where he had to hand off his furbaby which we can all agree isn't something any animal parents are comfortable doing but think about it people we need our animal doctors healthy so because of COVID this is now the norm. Also the staff are super friendly, attentive, and always reassuring us that everything is going just fine. Last but not least and more importantly the cost is very reasonable. Dundas Animal Hospital cares about their patients wellbeing and aren't out to pick our pockets clean

Dr. Middleton is very kind and caring. He takes the time to listen and explain. Together we worked out a plan for end of life care for my cat. The front line staff are also very kind.

Appointment was made quickly. My cat didn't seem stressed out with the visit. Vet was very informative, and kind.

The sad day came for our 16 year old dog to be put down. They were profoundly lacking in compassion. Rigid rule that only one person can come inside for the procedure when both my son and I, double vaccinated, wanted to. So I was left to say an intimate goodbye on the sidewalk in front of spectators but the clinic staff member did not give me enough time. I then asked if I could go in, once the IV was in, just for a quiet moment, before my son went in for the procedure, but this was denied and done so rather rudely. Another person on the sidewalk was taken aback like me at the staff's abrupt tone. Then, before my son was allowed to go in, the same staff member requested payment up front in full. Talk about lack of bedside manner. We previously had a dog euthanized there & payment was taken care of well after the event, not brazenly insisted upon at our most vulnerable moment. As if the day wasn't hard enough - the inappropriate and unprofessional handling of the situation by these staff made the day so much worse. We 100% wish we had gone elsewhere and will not patronize this organization again. They should be ashamed of how they handled this.

In March 2021, they misdiagnosed my 14 year old cat's sudden (acute) injury as arthritis (because I hadn't actually SEEN her hurt herself) and kept her on Metacam (anti inflammatory pain med) too long (like 3 months vs. a few weeks meanwhile manufacturer cautions use for only a few days!!) without monitoring her kidneys inbetween refills (her kidneys were fine before they started her on Metacam because they checked at my expense) until they failed 3 months later and I had to pay for two days of dialysis at my expense ($800)..she left their care with chronic kidney disease (thanks!) and told she would need dialysis every few months now..they even suggested maybe she had kidney problems before which was just their way of covering their butt because they had checked before prescribing just not before refilling!!!..she was fine after 2 days of dialysis at my expense and I'd reasonably lost all trust in them so I also didn't trust their opinion that her kidneys were now chronic (as they seemed to hope they were)...and sure enough she fell ill 6 months later in early Jan 2022 and I opted to euthanize her at another vet ...thanks for nothing Dundas Animal Hospital. I have since learned many others have had negative experiences too..wish I never took my Zola there...
