★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is not about the location, it is a about their pastries. It is industrial quality second grade pastries. There is no whipping cream, it is pure fat cream that at first bite makes your nose sweat. The taste of the hazelnut cake is good, the ingredients below pa r for a queen street reputable patisserie.
Obviously, they lost their mojo since I used to have their cakes in their first years of establishment.
Shame. There is no difference between bubble packaged cakes from the supermarket and theirs today.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a terribly disappointing experience after we ordered a red/pink velvet cake order for a very special birthday celebration. I was anticipating a rich, moist red/pink velvet cake and instead got a mouthful of dry carrot cake. I'm not sure what happened but it definitely put a damper to what was supposed to be a highlight of a special day. We went out of the way to order from Dufflet as their quality used to be top notch.
