We had an amazing time tripping in Northern Algonquin, camping at Lake Manitou! We saw lots of wildlife (muskrat, bald eagles, osprey, loons and more!), made lots of fires and paddled a bunch! Kieran and Chris made our last minute birthday adventure possible. We rented 'Big Red' (their 17' canoe) to trek in with our 4 kids and we even towed our kayak behind the canoe for some extra fun! I loved their excitement for our adventure, and the great recommendations they made for our trip. The excitement continued after we returned, as Kieran shared his antler and animal skull collection with the kids, while actively listening toe their stories too! We look forward to using Driftwood again in the near future! Thanks guys!!

Family run business started from a passion project. Too many wonderful things to say about Chris and Kieran. We rented a canoe from them and they offered us so many tips and advice on mapping our route and packing for two novice explorers. On arrival they ran us through safety, answered all my silly questions and had a wonderful chat with them. I trust the both 100%. And fyi.... It can be a pretty gnarly paddle back across the lake ?

Had the best time! An experience to remember for the rest of your life. Knowledgeable and social guides providing a lot more than just a fun and easy-going retreat into the natural world of Algonquin (where they know all the best spots to go see), also making sure you will learn some new basic skills along the way. Also willing to think along with special requests, as I needed to be picked up and dropped off at the bus stop of the Ontario Northlander. 10/10 Would recommend.

How to write the review without sounding like the group of every out trippers nightmare. Dietary restrictions up the wazoo, all different levels or experience in a canoe, including 2 kids under the age of 4. Chris and Kieran's planning made this trip an absolute dream.  From the amazing food, awesome tour guide info along the paddle, canoe songs to boot and adventures and activities to keep a big group of people of all ages and interests happy and occupied the entire time. On top of all of his amazing experience with canoeing and guiding in the outdoors, Chris's ability to understand group dynamics and understand exactly what we needed at every moment of our trip made this an experience we will remember with very fond memories for rest of our life. I cannot recommend him and Driftwood Paddle enough. If you have gone this far into your research for your next trip that you are reading the reviews, take it from me. Book the trip. You will not be disappointed.

SUCH AN AMAZING TRIP!! My girlfriend (Katie) and and I did a solo expedition camping trip with the help of the Driftwood Paddle crew. After a spectacular trip early this season we couldn't stay away; we fell in love with Algonquin! Chris and Kiren made our experience so easy and fun with many helpful tips and pointers. From great food options to bring (vegan included) to equipping us with the right tools and gear - they made it super easy and took the guess work out of it. From start to finish, it was a trip we will never forget! Thank you Driftwood Paddle for making us feel so welcome and at home. You guys at the Best! We look forward to coming back again and again (winter included)! Until our next adventure... ? ❄

The brothers at Driftwood Paddle go above and beyond to create a safe experience that is guaranteed to deliver that to which you set your intentions to. They are with you step-by-step from before you leave home to checking in on you after the trip. What I really appreciated was how well-versed they were. Chris was our guide and I can safely say that he is a magician out in the wilderness. He carries himself as a natural leader. This allows people on his trips to observe how he seems to seamlessly orchestrate all aspects of backcountry living. He is confident and sure-footed. He makes you feel like you’re in good hands both on the water and on land. Chris has an ability to pull out your inner warrior. He is an encouraging force and powerful man that looks beyond typical human attributes to see the potential in each and every one of his attendees. Chris makes sure to take the time to create a safe space-he truly created a container of love, understanding, and openness. This allowed everyone on the trip to feel comfortable expressing how they felt throughout. The food was A+ - lots of care, love and experience went into the variety of meals/snacks we were able to enjoy out in the wilderness. Chris was vocal about the plans (where we were going, the type of portages we were getting to, etc.). This allowed us to mentally prepare (though you must handle things in the moment as they arise) for what was to come. He valued both play, movement, pushing ourselves and hustling just as much as relaxing and restoring our bodies and minds. I can’t say enough good things about my experience. The trip was empowering, emotional and full of personal and collective growth. Thanks Driftwood!

Absolutely amazing trip! I'd orginally booked this back in 2020 but unfortunely had to postpone due to the pandemic. I kept in touch with Kieran and Chris throughout the 2 years and rebooked for 21st - 23rd May 2022. It was so worth the wait! Kieran and Chris were really friendly and welcoming and we were all excited it was finally happening. I went on an open 3 day trip so didn't know the other 3 guests. Although I was slightly apprehensive before the trip, everyone was so friendly and we all got on really well and were soon cracking jokes and laughing around the fire. We've also all stayed in touch which is lovely. Kieran was our guide on the trip and he was so knowledgeable, friendly and passionate that it was infectious. He put everyone at ease and had everything very well organised. I'd never canoed before but his tips and techniques made me quickly pick it up and I spent most of the trip steering. He also taught us how to make a fire and which wood is best for firewood and also showed me the different star constellations. The food was delicious - much better than I was expecting considering we were in the middle of nowhere and had to carry it all! We had two very nice breakfasts, plenty of snacks throughout the day, lovely wrap lunches and dinners of chilli and pasta with garlic bread. Despite being bitten by mosquitoes (they really loved me), I felt the most relaxed and clear headed I've ever felt in my life. The Algonquin is so peaceful and beautiful and doing the canoeing/camping trip is a great way to see it. Already planning when I go over again for my next trip with Kieran and Chris!

I had an amazing experience with Driftwood Paddle Algonquin. Chris promised an "adventurous, chill, feel strong, worry-free day" and delivered this in every aspect. I highly recommend them to anyone considering a guided canoe trip. This was my first and certainly won't be my last canoe trip. I look forward to making this an annual thing. Thank you!
