Dr. Stephen T.Y. Leung - Calgary

Dr Liang is my former family doctor. He gave me some advice when I was depressed and was one of the ones that got me out of the dark. It is a pity that in that clinic, apart from the doctors, no one is dedicated. The last time I went to see Dr Leong was to prescribe an ointment, however my appointment was around 1am. Because of the bus ride, I arrived at the clinic after 12 o'clock, but I didn't see the doctor until about 3 o'clock. There were not many people that day, there were only two or three patients. When the appointment time came, I asked the front desk how long it would take, and they answered quickly. I asked back and forth a few times and still got the same answer. The patients who came in after my appointment time had gone after the doctor and didn’t even come to me. At that time, I thought I should go to another family doctor. Another reason is to expose patient privacy. Several times I had some tests, and each time I got my test results from my boyfriend's mom. My emergency contacts were never theirs, and just because they were familiar with the people at the clinic, they asked the people at the clinic and answered. This is my private privacy, but I feel that in their eyes there is no professionalism in his profession, and the privacy is completely revealed. I also warned these front desk staff, but the result is still the same. So I will not go to this clinic again. All the people at the new clinic I go to are very professional and the waiting time is within expectations, it won't be outrageous to wait for hours or your privacy will be regarded as a non-issue by others. Dr. Leung was my family doctor for several years. He had provided me with help and guidance and helped me with my depression through the dark times. Unfortunately, with exception of the doctors, none of the office staff members (nurses/receptionists/clerks ) was professional or considerate. One visit in particular, I was booked for a 1pm appointment, and since I had to take the bus, I arrived just a little after 12pm. However, I did not get to see the doctor until 3pm. I checked in with the receptionist almost every half hour, and they all brushed me off and responded with "soon"/"almost"/"shortly". It was a weekday, and there were not a lot of patients on site that day, and patients who had arrived long after me were seen before me, and it was absolutely unacceptable for me to wait for almost 3 hours for a scheduled appointment. It was then I decided to never come back here and I would be better off seeing another family doctor who values ​​everyone's time. Another matter I'd like to share is the unprotection of my privacy and health records. I had requested several lab tests to be done, and for some reason, every test I had completed, all of those lab results was shared with the family member of my boyfriend at the time. NONE of his family members was my emergency contact, but I do know the fact that they are friends/close affiliates with the doctor/office staff members, and yet my privacy and health records were leaked and shared with people I did not agree to disclose any information to. I had warned the front desk staff for not disclosing any of my personal information with anyone else but me, but there was no change, and my information continued to be shared with others. To protect myself, I had decided to stop going to this clinic as a patient due to their unprofessionalism and consideration of their patients. I have found another medical clinic and I find them extremely professional in their clinical service, and the wait times are very reasonably for both appointments and walk-ins.
