Dr. Arojojoye has made such a big difference in my life! He actually knows and understands Adult ADHD/Anxiety and its impact, and where and how medications can help, and where they can't. I appreciated how he has cared about both my work life, home life, relationships and helping me find a combination of tools to help. After being over-prescribed in the past, he's helped me find a combination of strategies that really work, and I'm doing WAY better taking less. He knows his stuff, listens to my questions, and cares and wants to help, but also acknowledges he can't help everyone. I guess I'd say his Pride is in check? I'm not sure he thought he could help me when I started, but he invested in me and seemed to understand what others missed and misdiagnosed in my past. I don't always like his advice - we don't always agree, but he listens and we discuss what I'm concerned about. Sometimes I think I know better (you know, with all my Google Searches and all), but he has earned the trust of myself and my family quickly, and I am glad I was referred to him. He's been forgiving of my missed appointments (surprise?), and stern with me following up with him. This wouldn't be a fair google review without a complaint, so once or twice I had to review my prescription on my way out, only to find I would be short on my prescription before I saw him next. But then I remind myself, he's a doctor specializing in Psychiatry, and not a mathematician. A quick follow up call with his friendly receptionist, and it was rectified. I wish I knew her name, but the receptionist has been very helpful in reminding me of my appointments with a courtesy call, being kind yet stern when I've missed (sorry) and rescheduling when necessary. Dr. Arojojoy is someone I can trust with my health and discuss my symptoms and goals honestly with.

Dr. Arojojoye is a wonderful doctor. Highly educated, extremely punctual, great practical advice. He makes a strong point that medication is to be seen as an aide but not the fix. The fix is personally accountability to pursuing self care through counselling/therapy and making healthy life choices in general. 5 star Doctor for sure!

I've struggled with clinical depression for nearly 15 years. I've seen multiple GPs, tons of counselors, went on and off several medications that spiralled me even deeper into my illness. Last year, I ended up in the E.R. from a severe panic attack caused by an incorrect medication dosage prescribed by a GP in Mission, where I live. After this, I had given up hope. It is so hard to get to see an actual, specialized psychiatrist one-on-one in BC. It took me 14 years to even have a GP refer me to one, and only after I wound up in the E.R. After this experience, I was very skeptical about trying out more medications as my life has been a roller coaster of emotions since I was young. I can't even remember a time that I wasn't worried about my mood or thinking about dying. I had lost all hope and didn't really think a psychiatrist could help, but my family forced me to try... I was blown away during my first appointment with Dr. Arojojoye. He treated me like an intellectual and an adult (which I am, 30yo) and explained the science behind depression as well as how different medications work together to adjust different chemicals in your brain. I had never had anyone explain that before - I've done all the research on my own already, of course, but it was nice to have a professional really take care to ensure I understood how my brain works and not just throw pills at me (*cough* GPs are clueless *cough*). Dr. Arojojoye is a Psychiatrist, not a Psychologist, folks. This means it is his job to treat with medicine, not therapy (some people seem to be confused about that in earlier reviews). Despite this, he has a was of making me feel positive and hopeful. I appreciate his direct and efficient, yet always polite and asks lots of questions to make sure he's providing the best medication option for you. I've been seeing Arojojoye for about eight months, gradually switching up medications and dosages. I can say that for the first time in 15 years, I feel like I've found mental balance. I went from having mostly bad days to very few. I can better handle my anxiety and emotional stress which makes it possible to have a regular job and perform well. Thank you, Dr. Arojojoye. I sincerely hope you feel proud and fulfilled by the positive impact you have on people's lives when they have no hope left. Our 5-10 minute appointments every few months may not seem like a lot to you, but they (and the drugs) have made an incredible difference for me.

Dr. Arojojoye has been my psychiatrist for three years now. Very knowledgeable and kind. He was quick to identify my problems and has helped me with finding a medication to relieve some very intense symptoms. He recommended vitamins as well which I thought was great.

I was somewhat nervous of seeing a new psychiatrist as the psychiatrist, who had treated me for many years, retired. My apprehension quickly faded as Dr. Arojojoye was very warm and helpful. He has treated me now for more than a year and helped me adjust my medication to optimize my mental health. As well he has suggested useful supplements and vitamins and given me resources for cognitive therapy. As I have been under the care of a psychiatrist for over 20 years I can confidently recommend him as an effective and compassionate psychiatrist.

Waited months to get a "Phone Call" appointment. I missed the call as I was at work as most people do Monday to Friday. They said because I missed the phone call I can never see them again. Well that is because all they want to do is hand out meds. If they can't make money off of you, then they don't want to see you. Look for a more caring Dr. who doesn't turn patients away because they missed a phone call and actually cares about your mental health and safety.

Dr Arojojoye is a fantastic doctor and I can't possibly recommend him enough. He is attentive and informative, he never talked down to me or minimized anything I told him. Anything he decided he had a complete explanation for. If I hadn't moved to Ontario I would absolutely still be seeing him.
