What is Integrative Medicine?

Integrative medicine is healing-oriented medicine that takes account of the whole person, including all aspects of lifestyle. It emphasizes the therapeutic relationship between practitioner and patient, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapies.”
University of Arizona Program in Integrative Medicine

Integrative medicine aims to get at the root causes of illness and resolve chronic health issues with a “best of both worlds” approach. Treatment plans are developed that focus on diet, supplements and lifestyle issues whenever possible. However, integrative medicine does not reject conventional medicine nor does it uncritically adopt alternative therapies. A combination of conventional and alternative therapies for which there is evidence of safety and effectiveness, may be used.

“The ultimate goal: to get the patient better, through the use of safe, effective, less-invasive interventions whenever possible.”
UCLA Center for East-West Medicine

Please note: Dr Gagné will be re-opening her integrative medicine practice in the spring of 2021. All office visits will be done virtually, either by phone or secure video link. Please call 306-477-5683 any time after April 6 to schedule an appointment.

Dr. Gagne was so refreshing! A doctor that will sit and takes the time to listen to your whole story. When did you get sick? What type of lifestyle where you living before you became ill? What were the precursors to you becoming ill? What is the root problem and who did we fix it? I am on a healing journey and very happy to say I have finally found a doctor that will work with me and not write a quick prescription and send me on my way after 5 minutes.
