Dogtopia of Pickering

Thank you Dogtopia!!! Always accommodating and friendly. Special thanks to Victoria and Kennedy!! Bauer has only been coming here for a month and when we arrive in the morning he is excited to get out of the car to see Victoria and Kennedy and all his other friends! We appreciate you guys and the whole team at Dogtopia. Keep it up ? definitely recommend for those who don’t want their puppy/dog left alone.

My recent experience with Dogtopia specifically my conversation with the manager Victoria and puppy grooming experience has led me to write this review. However I will start with the positive First and foremost, I would like to say Dogtopia is an excellent way to have your pet engaged in a friendly, safe and social environment. I can confidently say that Saje has such a great personality because we exposed her to dogtopia at such a young age (12 weeks) The toy room is fantastic and the coaches in the room really care and engage with the puppies. I have been taking Saje on and off since October of 2020. She loves it, I love how they have different events which saje can enjoy, get exposed to different things and most of all be social with other puppies in a safe space. I've heard a lot of horror stories at dog parks and I tend to avoid them. The staff gave me great feedback on how Saje was doing with the other puppies and new friends she had made. Initially my concern was that she would pee in the house since they do their business in the room but this is NOT the case. Saje is fully potty trained and I constantly reinforced that behavior at home even if I had my doubts. They have also accommodated last minute requests for me. For example when Saje was getting spayed they gave me a quick appointment and ensured she was groomed well before her procedure. I appreciated this gesture. The not so good... We've always taken Saje to get groomed at Dogtopia, it's a one stop shop and since we knew the staff including Saje, it was an easy sell. However, my recently experience has lead me not to ever let Saje go back to get groomed. We paid $85 which is average for a groom, previously, she came back fine and we loved the cut this time, it was a whole different story. Saje came back completely scared and not herself, when my husband and I looked closely her fur was uneven, extremely short and had random long strands sticking out. Initially, I wasn't going to complain but what prompted me was the change in behavior she started to demonstrate. she is completely terrified of being in the car, when we worked hard to get her use to it. she trembles, cries and the only thing that changed previous to that was her grooming. When I called them, someone answered she was polite understood my concern and handed me off to a manger, and thats where it went downhill for me. Victoria took over, I have had conversations with her in the past and she constantly cuts me off, doesn't listen to what I have to say and wants me off the phone asap. I attempted to explain that we're not happy with her grooming and she cut me off and said "ok can you bring her back" my initial response was no, since Saje is mortified of going there now and the strands that were sticking out I could simply cut at home, even though I paid for a service. Being a customer facing organization I expected better communication. As a customer and consumer it is not my job to figure out what is needed. Learn how to handle conflict resolution, listen to your customers and take action. She then jumped to say she will add a discount to the file for her next grooming. Not needed I will not be returning as I thought in my head. She wanted me off the phone ASAP and this isn't the first time Victoria has done this. This is extremely upsetting considering I have referred so many pet parents to Dogtopia; Mochi, Ghost, Sohphia just to name a few.. I will say Kennedy and this other female with glasses (Beauty's mom) are amazing. They are caring and take the time to listen and Saje absolutely LOVES them. Anytime Saje came back from a grooming and they do their hand off they always ask if her grooming was good. I am writing this review in hopes that if others have any similar experiences management will do something. Furthermore take ownership of a situation. Overall, will I take Saje back for puppy daycare? in moderation, though now I’m extremely hesitant grooming? No they will have to earn my trust back and I definitely will not be recommending them to other pet parents

The staff at Dogtopia are great with my fur baby Ben!! Great to be able to check in on him thru the Webcam at anytime.

Our dog went twice for daycare prior to being boarded for 9 nights. He was in a great mood when we picked him up but was so pooped from having played with other dogs all day long which he's not used to. We had access to their camera feeds during the day and saw how much he loved to play with the other dogs. The only negative was that he wasn't brushed at all which he needs otherwise his fur gets all knotted and then he needs to be shaved! Not something we like... He's being boarded again next month for just over 2 weeks! Let's hope it goes as smoothly as the first time.

Love it here! My pup always gets his exercise in and comes home tired!! The staff are so friendly, a great place all around! Thanks Dogtopia -Saints Mom ♥️?

We love bringing our pup, Coco, to doggy daycare. She always comes home tired and well-behaved. It's great to check in on her throughout the day through the webcam. The canine coaches, especially Josh, do such a great job with her! She loves Josh!
