★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent food! Always fresh and delightful combinations. Local with a great atmosphere, the design is eclectic and perfectly Instagrammable. I always end up ordering their special and it's never steered me wrong, from eggs Benedict to an open face sandwich it is reliably delicious. The salted caramel cake is everything cake should be: moist, rich, not too much icing, and full of flavor and indulgence.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was my first time at this cafe, and it was a nice relaxed environment when I walked in, and it was a little busy, but not bad. Food from the brunch menu was delicious, but found it took a little long for it to get to the table. Servers were very nice and polite, and loved seeing the start of patios coming out to sit at for the start of the summer. Price is pretty decent, maybe a little pricey, and would recommend for anyone who hasn't been there to check it out. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice atmosphere and great food. There are some good brunch options there. The poached eggs in the benny were cooked well and the flavours were simple and sweet. The breakfast bowl had some really nice simple flavours as well, and was very light but also filling. Coffees were good, but the glassware may cause them to cool rather quickly (the ceramic cups also cool fairly quickly). Overall this was a nice place and had some good vibes. There are many smaller options as well, which we will definitely have to try the next time we are around.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a great experience overall. Very welcoming and hospitable with lovely decor, I was able to work at the one of the tall tables for a couple hours. They never rushed myle and were always refilling my water and offering to serve. The cappuccino was not the best in the city but it is by far the best I've had outside of a dedicated cafe that roasts their own beans. The pizza wasn't great in my opinion; pretty bland flavours overall, but the crust was great. The croissant was amazing, such perfect texture and buttery flavour! I enjoyed the cake, but was getting pretty full so I wasn't able to finish it. Highly recommend for a lunch or work/study session, but the menu wasn't very big so maybe not my first choice for dinner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Place was filthy. dirty dishes everywhere. The cloth "bench" was filthy.
Tables were too close together not much privacy. just a weird layout, it's too bad cause food was ok, thier "house milk bun" was ridiculously good. Just need some more staff to keep this place clean

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Slowly working my way through all the independant cafes in Edmonton and I'm so happy to have finally made it to District!
The flat white and iced lattes were perfect, they sell my favorite local Earl grey caramels, and my server Amanda was so kind and double checked that she had my long order correctly even though I had a huge line behind me.
Thanks for a great cup, District!
And for the guy who said the place had dirty dishes everywhere, you can take them to the bin yourself ?like a decent person should. It's a hugely busy cafe, and as a former barista, I know patrons would get mad if they saw a long line without all hands on the espresso machine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean and friendly, and great coffee. And actually open early on Sunday. Hard to find a good espresso early in the morning in downtown Edmonton.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ District Cafe’s baked goods are great! They have selections of croissant, bagels, scones, muffins, cookies, cinnamon buns. They also have menu for breakfast and light lunch.
With regards to coffee, they use beans from Bows & Arrows Roasters for their espresso. They also sell coffee from local Alberta roasters such as Rogue Wave and Monogram! (But they also bring coffee from other provinces on occasion)!
