★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small, up close and personal. Good place for a show if you want to get right into the show by smelling the person beside you if your close to the stage area. Great place for a punk rock show !

Loved the atmosphere and vibe. Servers were very nice ♡ Food took a loooong time but understandable. Pizza has lots and lots of toppings! Yay!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really like this venue. Its relative small, great for underground music! The stage is on the smaller size and so is the area around it but that never stopped people from having hell of time moshing :-).
Staff is great and friendly. Sound can be hit/miss so bring earplugs. Parking is just around the corner. The one across the 9th ave is under construction so be aware.
Bathrooms could be bigger, but i never had to wait.
Its a great plays to come and enjoy some great metal shows.
Never tried the food but the drinks are reasonably priced and the bartenders are fast and always friendly.
Come and support some local and not so local bands. You'll have a great time!

Side perk- bathrooms are clean and well maintained

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dickens is one of my favourite places in Calgary. The owners are incredible people who support the local music and drag scene. Very inclusive and LGBTQIA+ friendly. Staff is always welcoming. A great venue for shows, markets, and more!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went while they had a concert going on, seems like an okay bar, but was hard to tell seeming how you could barely move or get to the bathroom with how crowded it was. (Bathroom was pretty dirty, for sure a squat moment) It definitely needs a sound update too as the band was awesome, but the volume and acoustics kinda sucked cause they are not set up for it! But overall was not bad and saw a pretty cool show!
