★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite the miserable baggage handler you have there. She inherently barks at you like you're her unwanted stepchildren. It is very apparent why there is no tip jar.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Transit buses for Nanaimo town as well as VI-Connector buses to Port Alberni, Tofino, Uclulet and Victoria are available just outside the BC Ferries Departure Bay terminal. Tickets for the VI (Vancouver Island) Connector buses can be booked inside the Ferry terminal or on the VI website in advance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have never had a good experience. Workers have no idea what is going on or how to load a ferry. Arrive 2 hours before a sailing leaves and let them know you have a dog. If your lucky you get to watch 2 ferries leave and be one of the last lines loaded on a ferry that was less than 20% committed when you bought your ticket. It is especially fun to watch 150 cars who arrived after you load on the top deck of a ferry that has 0 reservations. Yay. BC ferries, I wouldn't expect anything more. Running as inefficient as usual.
