Our Mission is to facilitate relevant, dynamic and progressive high level training that provides an opportunity for all types of individuals to advance their abilities, education and increase survivability in dangerous or violent situations.
At DEFENCE LAB we are looking for improvement before perfection. One should constantly strive for advancement in order to increase capability in often or potentially dangerous occupations. Also, we want all our students to consistently prevail under the duress of real life close-quarter confrontations. Serious students must be prepared to see and apply new concepts, as well as refine older ones and then instil them into the sub-conscious mind through rigorous and dedicated training.
Our full-time and support staff have interacted with individuals from around the world and had the unique opportunity to analyze numerous methods, strategies and tactics. We consider ourselves perpetual students who endeavour to remain that way. With that as a foundation we are able to provide courses, classes and seminars that are practical, functional and integrate moralities and concerns for modern laws
Basic certification classes & courses are scheduled regularly throughout the year. Advanced, custom and private/semi-private training courses are available at request.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While working with the Armed forces on a tasking to Dundurn I started doing Aikido with Dustin Siltzer.
After my first class he asked me if I would be interested in trying something a little different.
I said yes of course and I showed up for my first Defence lab class.
I have been studying martial arts since I was 13 mind you and so it takes a lot to impress me.
However, within the first 30 min of class I was floored by the simple brutality, simplicity and effectiveness of this style of combat.
I would recommend this to anyone at any level of fitness or martial experience.
Hands down the best and most realistic training I have ever had.
