Debonair Campground was established in 1985 by JP & Agnes Gosselin, with a commitment to family-oriented camping enjoyment. After more than 30 years of successfully building their business, the Gosselin’s have found someone who shares their vision and passion. Effective April of 2017, James Katsabanis will be carrying on the Debonair tradition of providing a safe, friendly, and cooperative camping experience for families.

With an average of a 97% return rate, Debonair Campground often serves as a stepping stone to becoming a cottage owner and/or permanent resident in St. Malo. Debonair Campground prides itself on creating a peaceful environment that allows family and friends to have fun and build lasting memories.

Debonair Campground is now up to 203 campsites, 186 of them are seasonal and 17 are casual overnight sites. Debonair guests can enjoy their private beach within a short stroll of their personalized camping sites. The palm trees around the beach make for a tropical feel, and play structures throughout the campground provide a safe and fun area for kids of all ages.

Debonair Campground is proud of its considerable role in the economy and growth of the local community, and employs a full-time maintenance staff who keeps the grounds and structures in meticulous condition. On weekends, a Night Attendant ensures a pleasant and safe environment for guests, and local contractors are employed on a regular basis.

Even though the facilities are not open to the public in general, we invite the public to take a drive around the campground to see first-hand what Debonair Campground has to offer.

James goes out of his way to accommodate his camping community. The improvements to date have enhanced the campground and made the experience very enjoyable.

The area is good for camping in tents and has rental areas for people with trailers. There are functioning showers and public toilets. Furthermore there are hookups at trailer sites for septic and grey water.

Did some tent camping here. Not many spots for that and I think only 1 spot with power (which we had). Overall a nice place. Would definitely come back if I had an RV but likely would go elsewhere if tenting! It has at least 3 play structures for young kids around as well as being really close to st malo beach. It also has its own little private beach which is alright. The water has a bit of algae/seaweed and frogs in it. It also has a flaring slide for kids and some large floating mats to use as well. It seems like the water level was really low this time around but otherwise a decent small beach. Functioning bathrooms that were clean as well as pay showers in the bathrooms (taking loonies or quarters on the guys side). Lasted long enough to take a shower and wait around under the water for the time to run out but it never did so I just left lol. Also has a WiFi hotspot near the main office as well. I had cell signal everywhere there though as far as I could tell. They sell wood at the office as well. 1 bundle had about 8 pieces or so in it for 7 bucks. (large pieces of wood, halves not quarters). Enough trees around to block the sun if you need to but also open enough to get as much sun as you need at most campsites that I could see. St malo is really close if u need to buy groceries or anything as well. Overall good experience and my kid loved having a play structure to play on.

Stayed 1 night in late May, 2019. Excellent wifi, very friendly welcome and information provided by owner James, outdoor playground for kids, grounds are immaculately clean, roads are gravel but smooth and graded, large campsites, had 30 amp service and water, campsites are spacious, washroom / showers we're clean, laundry facilities we're clean. We would absolutely stay again.

We have stayed in campgrounds in many provinces and states in North America. This ranks right up there as one of the best we have encountered. We stayed in one of their overnight sites for 11 nights. We received great service from the owner and the office manager. The sites are level and accommodated our 36 foot motor home. The washrooms were clean with lots of hot water. We highly recommend this campground.

August long weekend was our first time staying here. We weren't disappointed! Two seasonal campers recommended this place to us and we absolutely loved it! Our children thought going trick or treating before Halloween was the best thing ever, and the movie the next night was just as good! If we could get a seasonal spot here, we would and we'd never leave!! I loved knowing my children were fine and safe walking around with friends. There is a very relaxed atmosphere and the owners are great! I was incredibly impressed with the bathrooms and shower area. I wasn't sure what to expect when it came to the showers, but they were great. Having nice clean bathrooms were so nice. Our tent site was in watching distance if our children went to the bathroom alone. It was nice to see recycling garbage cans every 50 feet or so. Even though we were right next to the movie site, we didn't hear anything overly loud to make falling asleep hard that night. Our kids loved the parks and the beach!

Just had a really nice five day stay here. Very nicely kept campground. Friendly staff. Nice beach at the lake if you have kids with you. Everything thing is spotlessly clean. Walking trails are all very well maintained. Perfect family campground. Can’t wait to visit again in the future.
