"Executive chef Jamie Harling’s offerings are largely centred around sustainable and locally sourced ingredients that pay homage to his own ideas about food, as well as the provenance of the building itself. “I’ve been calling it contemporary Canadian cuisine,” Harling says of his menu, which he tweaks regularly to incorporate in-season produce. “The big thing is celebrating ingredients at their peak and celebrating the here-and-now. You’re not going to see asparagus here in February.”

The weather was beautiful so we opted to sit outside on the patio. The garden surrounding us was lovely and the staff brought around umbrellas for shade. The tasting menu seemed very tempting but we opted to order the charcuterie, brisket, and the tenderloin off the à la carte menu. We finished off the with chocolate crémeux.
The food was very good; I loved the abundance of greens and herbs that they used in both entrees. Lisa was also excellent, she was very attentive, engaging and gave very good recommendations and explanations of the menu items.
Overall we really enjoyed our experience; the Deane house is a tad expensive but I think part of that goes towards the beautiful ambiance. The Deane House is one of Calgary’s must experience spots and I would highly recommend it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Girls tea party at Deane House. Parking is very small and hard to find near by ( on Sunday) food is okay but sandwiches bit dry and not a great, sweets are not super surprised, ( not sure they bake or not)tea selection is okay.
But we had a great time at Deane house.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went for a family dinner before Christmas and it was very good. Menu is unique and fairly balanced. Food was amazing and the wine selection is extensive. We had many recommendations from Katie for wine and they were excellent.
Would recommend the bison striploin if you go!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ History of the place is fascinating and lovely. My friend and I came for dinner and there was not a lot of people in the dining area so we enjoy the place to ourselves as most were in a private rooms. We will go back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful experience. Deane House is a classy upscale restaurant suitable for a special occasion like an anniversary or an engagement! We enjoyed some of the best mulligatawny soup I’ve tasted, very fresh oysters and homemade sourdough to start. I had the bison striploin for dinner and my wife had the tenderloin, both were cooked to perfection and the meat practically melted in our mouths. Dessert was a treacle pudding and a creme brûlée, and they were exquisite!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Afternoon tea was delightful! Very good food, tea ambiance and service - highly recommend! Our party of 6 truly enjoyed themselves! TAKE NOTE that we booked our reservation online 2 days beforehand by clicking the "Reserve Afternoon Tea" button at the bottom of the web page titled Afternoon Tea on their website. There was no option to choose the tea experience specifically, just the date and party size. Despite text there saying there would be a deposit of 10$ per person in the party, no payment prompt occurred during the reservation process. Though, I did receive an email saying my reservation was confirmed. I decided to call the next day to make sure our spot was reserved, as they do sell out of the Afternoon Tea experience and I had read another review complaining of improper reservations. Turns out my reservation was in fact NOT correct, and was NOT noted as an Afternoon Tea experience (just a normal reservation for lunch). I have no clue how this happened when I specifically clicked the "Reserve Afternoon Tea" button but when I spoke with staff they apologized profusely and switched our reservation to the correct one without hesitation. Keep this in mind when booking online, or try to book over the phone as I'm not sure it would always be such an easy fix, and would have been a massive let down to miss out. Other than this we had an amazing experience!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful venue & setting with great hospitality from all their team members. Our server was ever so attentive in making our anniversary brunch memorable. She was also knowledgeable of the menu (they change it seasonally) and was able to recommend us based on our appetite! If you're a big carb person, their daily assorted pastries is highly recommended--they even have gluten-free options that you're able to split with members of your party with those dietary needs.
