Have had food from here often and I am never disappointed. The portions are perfect, the flavour amazing and the best naan I've ever had! Those of you giving bad reviews since the news article came out are downright petty and childish! Most of the negative comments over that last couple of weeks come from people and their friends and families who ILLEGALLY sell food made from their private kitchens to sell on Buy and Sell Facebook pages.

My review is just not only because of owner's complaint about homemade food but also I know the taste of this restaurant is not giving us a wow feeling. I gave 1 star because I cant give less than that otherwise I would give zero or minus points. Also adding my review just because people who are giving this restaurant 5 star just to take owner's side and support her where she is wrong. All other cities have homemade food businesses and nobody opposing and no other restaurants in Ottawa are crying like Cumin and never cried. New owner like you is already crying. Even all ethnic groups are selling homemade food.

Got the street food all you can eat as take out to try an indian restaurant in ottawa that I don't normally go to as I have other options. As this had indian snack options thought to give it a try. Also, because its covid, I thought I would try a local restaurant and support them in these tough times. I have to say the quality of the food was so terrible that 1 star is only for the service. The food was super oily that I was able to still squeeze the oil out from all the items. The samosa, aloo tikki, puri, you could taste the oil very clearly. As an indian I have had WAY BETTER snack foods at other restaurants in ottawa. The taste was very bland in all items and no variety as we expected. I will not be visiting this place again as after that much oil I did not feel good. Quality will really need to go up if this restaurant would like our support.

I have really mixed emotions about this place. Came on all you can eat night. I will start by saying the waitress and the service was lovely. Very nice attentive staff and food arrived quickly. If I had to rate the service ALONE I would give it 4-5 stars. The problem really is the food. It just does not taste good. The main chicken dishes (chilly chicken and chicken 65) were just pretty bland with little flavorful outside being spicy. A lot of the dishes just kinda end up tasting the same. The noodles were terrible. The fried rice was pretty average. Because we came on all you can eat night we got A LOT of food but we just didn't really enjoy the food. And although it was all you can eat, it wasn't cheap, ended up costing just under 60$ without added tip for 2 people. In hindsight we would have rather gone just about anywhere else in China town like Mekong where for significantly less money we would have gotten better food and almost as much. Or Roast and curries where for you get a big meal of super high quality amazing food. I just can't recommend this place.

Their set menu for the Indian Street Food Festival was delicious. Everything tasted fresh and had a kick without being too spicy. Generous portions and friendly staff. As we are in lockdown, I didn’t get the in-restaurant experience, but the take out is a great way to make your day a little brighter.

Tried their Indian street food event this past weekend. Its the best Indian food I have tried. All their dishes had lots of flavors. The service is also topnotch, I did not pre-order like everyone else. I walked in person and had so many questions, these dishes they were serving were unheard of to me. The restaurant was very busy, but the staff had pulled the owner out of the kitchen so, she can explain the dishes to me in great detail. I would definitely give the staff 5-star. Both their food and their service is really good. You will not find this anywhere else in Ottawa.. Take it from a person that has been to many Indian restaurants in Ottawa.

We are from Toronto and eat here everytime we come to Ottawa, amazing place. The only place in the neihhbourhood to offer hakka food. The food was amazing with the perfect amount of spice. The restaurant is modern, clean and cozy. By far the best Hakka restaurant in Ottawa.

Stumbled on to a special street food experience last night, rather than their daily menu. Glad we did! Lively vibe with music videos on, friendly chats with owner and employees, a beautiful colourful setting and most importantly, lots of tasty treats we had never tried before were served promptly. Looking forward to try the express lunch menu soon. Wanted to update this to say the takeout that cumin is offering is exceptional as well! So much flavour and has this real home made (not that I could make it at home myself!! lol) taste. Try the chili paneer and the cauliflower manchurian. If you order spicy food you will get spicy food though I am sure they can accommodate if you request it toned down...we love it!
