★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I give this a 1 star only because there customer service is good. I use to like credential direct and have recommended my family and friend to them . They got a new system about a month ago and it has been nothing but problems. Litterally it goes down everyday. sometimes for few mins and sometimes for few hours. Today it has been down all day. Cant log in or anything. I can only call them to get a quote or place a trade which takes 10 mins of waiting . pointless. it is very frustrating not to able to log in and do anything. This is my first ever review about a business online. I hope they fix the problems soon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the worst trading broker imaginable. They do not offer US funds in the TFSA, so to trade US stocks you pay 2% fee to convert CAD to USD when you buy, and 2% again when you sell to convert USD back to CAD. On top of that is the 8.88 fee in and 8.88 out.
If that's not bad enough their website is extremely unreliable. It crashed in the middle of making a trade resulting in significant losses instead of the gains I was going to make. And they still charged me the exchange fees after I called to complain.
To open a margin account with leverage is a big deal too. They don't even offer leverage without a credit app, unlike many other brokerage firms that just use the collateral in your account.
I highly recommend steering clear of this brokerage, unless you like to lose money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'd give them 0 star if I could. I've dealt with quite a few self-directed brokerage and Credential Direct is the worst so far. Allow me to elaborate:
1. They charge full commissions on several partial fills in a good until order. So when your good until order was filled over 4 partial fills on different days, your total commission would be over $35.
