CRAFT Beer Market English Bay

Almost had a bad time but got a last minute rescue. We came in for a quick bite and were told that burgers were on special for $5. The server said it was only the classic burger as on the menu, which comes with two patties. The burger doesn’t come with a side on special. When it arrived, we noticed that it only had one patty, and seemed like a scaled down version of their full-priced classic, which we didn’t know. It almost felt like a concession stand burger (see photo) but tasted ok. We mentioned to another server passing by that it’s not what we thought we were ordering and she said we can add an extra patty for an extra charge… At that point, with a charged side it’s almost the same price as the regular burger. We were ready to write Craft off our regular spots until Riley the manager came to the rescue. She took the burger off our bill and gave us two free drinks to make up for it. Go Riley. Both my friend and I were restaurant managers for years so we’re extra aware of good training and service. The staff were friendly but seemed like they could use more info (or at least divulge relevant info like the missing patty). Riley clearly knows that a happy customer is a lifetime customer and the cost to the restaurant of an extra patty isn’t worth 50 years of lost business. We didn’t make a fuss as we’ve been on the receiving end of angry customers many times, but we felt it’s important to bring it up to help the staff learn so the restaurant will continue thriving. Food here is consistently good (not incredible) but the price point is more than fair for what you’re getting. Great place for drinks and a chill experience. Will return (all thanks to Riley).

Happy Hour!! One of the best selection of beer and small plates in the menu for a reasonable price. Our waitress was really friendly. I would recommend calling before trying to walk-in, we had about a 30 minute wait.

Nice view of the ocean, however it was quite loud both inside and out. Props to our waiter who entered our drinks extremely quickly in order to get the happy hour deal before it was over. Craft has some of the best nachos I’ve ever had.

Amazing place to eat! The view by the beach was amazing, we went around sunset and it was really pretty. While there was a bit of a waitlist, it was definitely. I ended up having the Baja fish tacos, and ordered them twice. They were hands down the best tacos I've had till date anywhere! the fish was very soft and tender but crispy on the outside, the sauce on the inside was just exceptional. I would 100% recommend them. The staff was also very nice and helpful when finding something to order. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area, however it is better to book before hand as they can get full fast

Great place to hang out with awesome views of the English bay! We ordered the impossible burger, wings with hot sauce, and craft Mac and cheese. We also ordered some draft beers, Belgian style and pale ale. The food and drinks were on point along with the people working there. A must visit in the English Bay Area!

Best gluten free burger I’ve found — Fresh, soft, fluffy bun. Double patty is juicy, with melted cheddar, it was perfect and filling. Happy hour 2-5pm or all day Sunday. Location is great too: A view of the sea, it’s nice and sunny in early evening. It’s packed, so there is chatter noise like most pubs, with upbeat music. Edit: Depends on the chef you get. I went another time and the patty eas wet and not charred, seems like it had been taken out of a freezer and cooked. So it's a mixed bag!

Great option for meeting up with friends and enjoying a nice beer night. Wide selection of beers that will not let you get bored. Food offer is straightforward and simple but tasty. We came here for Happy Hour on the 31st of December and had a lovely time! The food was delicious, the drinks were on point and everything came out super prompt. The girl who served us was very friendly and knew when to check in. Highly recommend this place! Also, a perfect spot to watch the sunset over English Bay ??
