L	Lindsay Jones on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The absolute worst customer service and body work I have ever seen. Our truck went there for some insurance work. They have done more damage than actual repairs. The paint is awful and the bumper isn’t even installed properly. They took the hitch off to complete a repair and never tightened the bolts to install it again! We drove with a trailer hooked up and could have had a serious accident or someone could have been injured or even killed! Now they are denying that they are responsible for any of these issues. We have overspray everywhere and our truck looks like it was done by co-op students. I would NEVER take another vehicle there

Over the last seven years I have experienced excellent service, always on time and as promised. Kevin in the parts department has been outstanding for all of our needs and if we ever had questions Ellen (the owner) is always available to answer any questions about purchases or service. The shuttle drivers have always been prompt and friendly and make it easy to carry on with your day. Even during the pandemic, service has been excellent.

Asked to have a dash board light reset (the work was done elsewhere, but the local garage didn't have the GM "reset" code), they charged me $135 for hooking up the car to the computer, but they did not clear the code, then they asked if I wanted them to diagnose the issue (for which they would charge another $135), and then they would "fix" the car, which means clear the dash board light (another $135 - total over $400 with tax). The entire operation should take about 20 minutes tops. They want to fix my car, but in 3 installments of $135 per step rather than do what I asked them to do. NEVER GOING BACK. Also my wife had a similar experience ($400 plus a second visit at $300 bill) to fix a power window, which still didn't work when they were done. STAY AWAY from Cowan in Bowmanville! Fooled me twice.

One day I decided to call a few gmc's outside of Toronto which led me to Cowan GMC located in Bowmanville (45 minutes east of Toronto)!! I initially dealt with James by phone. He was very polite, professional and informative. He took the time to look at vehicles on the lot and any that may be incoming. Within 3 hours from my initial phone call he found me a pickup truck that I wanted. We arranged a time in afternoon the same day for me to test drive the vehicle and see if it was the one i wanted and sure enough it was. I was able sign papers the same day. Buying any type of car is generally stressful, however the team at Cowan made it such a breeze. Everything started with James who i would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new car. Also a big thank you to Cody who helped us with the paper work and facilitate the deal (also not pushy at all with any extra warranties and very polite and professional) and thank you as well to the manager Adam who worked behind the scenes and walked us through our new vehicle. The people we dealt with at Cowan's Gmc were terrific, polite, professional and not pushy at all. I highly recommend them to anyone reading this. Even for people in Toronto that cannot find a car, Bowmanville is only a 45 minute drive and for the smooth, friendly, hassle free, no bs service i would do it again in heart beat. I definitely will be doing business again with Cowan GMC!!
