Always willing to help if you have a question or need a hand loading something.
Obviously a lot of pride goes into this store, starting from the guys that loom after carts to self checked.
Awesome all around!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decent Costco. Set up like a Costco business center. Small but good variety. They even have frozen avocados that the Seattle Costco quit carrying. A local person said the best place to try poutine is the Costco food court. Ha.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Costco in Courtenay always has ample parking and easy access to store. Greeter at front is always smiling & welcoming. This location like all Costco stores has the familiar layout and specials arr at the entrance. Staff is easily accessible and knowledgeable on product & location.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Extremely busy parking lot and lineup for gas that was not as cheap as I expected. But, inside the store was easy to navigate, we got everything we needed and checkout lines were basically non existent. I also ordered food at the concession. Overall good experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I hear lots if negatives when it comes to big box stores. I'm an advocate for shopping local.
That said, Costco sets the bar for guest experience. Clean and bright, plenty of product for the one stop shop. Compared to the other big box stores, Costco doesn't need to treat every guest like a potential criminal with ugly steel barricades at entrance and exit. They obviously pay their employees well as you see the same people at the checkout every week and they always greet you. High volume store and somehow they manage to make you feel valued.
It should be the standard but the other box stores are going in the other direction.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So disappointed in Costco optical in Courtney. I ended up with a pair of glasses that I just hate by a process of elimination and poor in store selection of frames in combination with the over reaching advice of their customer service rep. She managed to find something wrong with every frame I looked at that I liked until she limited my selection to about five pairs she recommended due to fit and style. I ended up settling for one pair that I could only say I tolerated and wasted five hundred dollars. I have since gone to another optical retailer and bought two pairs of better quality glasses on their store promotion (and I absolutely love them) for less than I paid at Costco. Never doing that again and probably won’t renew our membership.
