★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic vibe with great food. Totally see why this place is so popular. The domes are fabulous on a cool spring day. Such a fun atmosphere. Had the taco salad, key lime pie and mojito and it was all good, albeit slightly pricey.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cute place but had terrible visible ant problem. Drinks were terribly mixed and tasted like nail polish smells. Maverick taco looks and tastes like expensive dog food but dog food none the less and the shrimp tacos are done with previously freezer burnt shrimp that gave my husband minor food poisoning threw the night and well into the afternoon.
Called restaurant in morning to tell them very nicely they need to throw away their shrimp and I got a nice but unassuming ‘thank you’ from the man answering and that was quite literally it. I do not think he will throw that shrimp away.
Only redeeming quality was the super friendly and nice staff working there. Also their hot sauce dip was quite nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything that I had here I really enjoyed. Habanero lime chicken to start was great, margarita was delicious (could have had a few more if I didn't have to work after), I like the steak tacos more than the fish but both were good and the key lime pie was great. Very impressed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great patio spots with ocean view. I had the feature blackberry margerita which was really good and the Maverick tacos. Was a pretty hearty serving. I got the spicy habenaro sauce which was very spicy. I would skip that next time as the tacos come with 2 sauces already. Unless you like super spicy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Exceptional experience: visited Powell river for three days and went here twice! Cosy setting with Latin music playing in the background, with comfortable seating with a fire table to add to the ambience. Ordered numerous dishes over the two meals and the top hits were the Verde Muerte, a mezcal based cocktail a must have. Citrusy drink with the smokiness from the mezcal and the chili lemon salt to give that next level kick. The poblano Fritos is an amazing take on the onion rings but with the poblano pepper. The jambalaya, may not be true to its origins but the flavors were amazing. The wet burrito - it’s huge and it’s topped with an queso sauce that complimented the dish very well. And last but not least, the key lime pie, loved the combination of the key lime with the crumble and fresh cream. Ferin, our waiting staff was amazing and provided some great recommendations! The house also surprised us by treating us with the pie for my sister’s bday! A must visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't know where to begin. This restaurant is mirage in a sleepy beautiful town! We went with low expectations, tired after a long drive. Oh boy! were we in for a surprise!!
Flavors exploded from every spoonful!
The drinks were the most delicious. I had the green death - wowza!
The food was so great that we went there twice. The ambience, the food, the service - Top notch!
Beware - You will earn the wrath of the food gods if this is not on your pitstop to Savary island !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious fish tacos with super fresh ingredients and tasty Palomarita with a spicy sweet and salty rim. Friendly attentive staff with great west facing patios overlooking the harbour. Chill atmosphere with Latin music.
