Located on Portage Avenue in the heart of west Winnipeg. The Cork & Flame brings a contemporary atmosphere to Winnipeg’s dining scene with its 193 seats capacity. The restaurant’s menu is like the food itself, the portions are “large” featuring a diverse selection of soups and salads, appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, classic dinners, and a wide assortment of entrées with the likes of steak, ribs, fish, pasta and much more. Our vision is to bring back the formal dining room experience with a casual twist. Unlike most of the other restaurants in west Winnipeg, the Cork & Flame is a local privately owned restaurant. Our dining room features elegant table linens and a carefully thought out decor; with a color palette that offers a relaxed setting.

Vibrant City Ambiance

All of the restaurant’s furniture from dining room tables to stand-up barstools in the lounge have been carefully selected to add to the vibrant ambiance of each dining space. With over 4,500 square feet available, our restaurant has been intricately set-up to provide an aesthetic for any occasion. Our restaurant offers intimate and romantic settings with a larger dining room which can cater to both large groups and small parties. It’s perfect for a night out or a special occasion.

Relaxed Lounge

The lounge features a casual bar where guests can enjoy an assortment of alcoholic beverages including an extensive selection of wine, kraft beer, whiskey, bourbon, and signature cocktails just to mention a few. On both Friday and Saturday evenings, you can also enjoy the live sounds of entertainment piped through our sound system. A lighthearted appetizer menu is always available for you to enjoy with a great selection of finger food during the late night.

Comfortable Outdoor Patio

Our outdoor patio is full of lush greenery with cozy and intimate seating which is ideal for a romantic setting. The patio is also privately situated near the back side of the restaurant’s property, where you can relax amongst friends and listen to some great background music.

R	Rachel Hastman on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really nice experience at Cork & Flame. We sat in the lounge which was really nice, and ordered appetizers. The chicken wings were really good (some of the best i had in awhile)! And the spinach dip was delicious. The waitress was really friendly & attentive.

There was beautiful piano music that set a nice mood. Our food and drinks were fantastic. We need to come back to try the breakfast and another day to try desserts.

Im not a fan of franchise food and its harder and harder find unique places to go. We seen this while driving and wanted to check it out. This place was very busy and we had no reservation. They where still very accommodating. Very nice people. Great atmosphere when you walk in. That soft light out door patio was amazing. Service was super friendly, the food was excellent. Fresh vegetables, the ribeye was cooked med rare perfect. Service was little slow. Not sure if it was cause they where just super busy, maybe receiving from dinner rush or what was what. But was worth the wait. I'm definitely going to be back, there is alot more on that menu we want to try. Thanks for having us last night!

By chance we were greeted by the owner whose smile and warm demeanor was infectious. As a vegetarian, the menu was fun and interesting – lots of options. My date was gluten free, and he had tons to chose from as well. The portions were huge – almost over the top – and it tasted amazing. This is great for a formal date night or just an evening out with friends.

The servers were on top of everything and always available for questions or to drop off drinks/food. We had a small issue with our steak and the head chef immediately came to the table to fix it. Overall, excellent customer service. There was live music on the lounge side - it made for a great atmosphere. The food was very good. I can’t say enough about the prime rib dinner. It was absolutely delicious! The fries were seasoned great and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The Greek salad was incredible! We will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu. Suggestion - make a reservation on Saturday night - the place was packed! Thanks for the great experience!

R	R on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This review is reflective of a recent group dining experience at Cork & Flame. It was everyone's first visit, and will likely be everyone's last. The dining space is huge, patio is nice, live music was good, but the indoor space is too loud to have a conversation. The service staff was friendly and helpful, but also inexperienced and slow. The owner or manager, a gentleman who was chatting with tables, bringing out drinks, and advising the wait staff, really ruined the experience for all of us, which I will get to later. Apart from not having many of the menu items available, waiting a long time for everything, watching other tables served before us even though they arrived later, having items forgotten or incorrect, our meals ranged from good to disappointing. One person soon after experienced some tummy trouble, but this could always be coincidental. One person really did not enjoy their meal or experience. This review would have been much better, but because of the owner/manager's lack of customer service skills it gets 1/5. If I could give lower than that, I would. Discussing our table with another table is unprofessional. Patronising people is rude. For the prices they are charging you expect a certain level of quality, and knowledge about how to prepare something and that was lacking. The steak was soggy, no crust or sear, and just didn't look or taste like it was freshly grilled. Other steaks were ordered (medium well) and were enjoyed but I also would take an assessment by someone who prefers their steak done that much with a grain of salt. I'm sure many people have a great time here, but in terms of value for money, ambience and total dining experience this place was a big L. If you do go I hope your experience is much better than ours. *pictured is the lamb shank which was good, but sent the person who ordered it to the bathroom before leaving so, who knows.

Service was lovely, atmosphere casual, and just a great space to be. If you're heading to the Keg, the Olive Garden of steak houses, just keep driving down the road to this place and get a meal made with some real care. Oh, and the sizzling apple crisp is the real deal. Don't skip it.
