My family and I love our new double doors that we purchased and got installed by Consumers Choice Home Improvements. The salesperson was very courteous and helped us make the best choice for our home and his recommendations on the colour and finishes really made the difference in how great it looks now. The whole team was very professional from the sales person, to the gentlemen taking the measurements, to the final installers. The installers were not only punctual and showed attention to detail but cleaned up everything post-installation including removing and disposing of the old doors. Consumers Choice Home Improvements have a very efficient process and I'll definitely be recommending them to my neighbours and family/friends.

After 4 years, the screens started to erode and was told I would have to replace them out of pocket at $35 a piece (there's a dozen windows). Summer 2020, our bedroom window warped and will no longer close. For a year they kept saying it will be replaced soon. On today's date, they now say their supplier is bankrupt and won't warranty anything they supplied. They offered to sell me a new window plus install. DO NOT USE CONSUMERS CHOICE.

Sales and install was great but one window broke a seal. Called in December 2020. Tech came out in Jan 2021. No repair. No call back with status update. I call them to follow up in June 2021. I get it’s still on order when I asked are they behind on orders she said no we make new windows first before we get to warranty work. Basically admitting they only fix stuff when buisness is slow. If you order new windows they come in 3 weeks. If you have an issue with a window good luck…asked for manager to call back but i guess we will wait. ****update - still no call or info about our window being replaced. It’s like they forgot who we are***

We purchased a window in August, and, as was to be expected, we waited 4 weeks for the window to be manufactured. We waited and waited and finally in November - 3 months later - we received a call for installation... or so we thought Measurement: The measurements were scheduled for a weekday smack in the middle of the afternoon. My spouse took the day off work and we were cancelled on by the company. Consumers Choice called back and rescheduled for the following week - we took another day off work and finally the guy came only to rush his way through the job. Installation The company scheduled another day for installation... Another weekday afternoon. I took a day off work, only to have the installer cancel the morning of the scheduled date of installation. Are you getting sick of this yet? We sure were! The company called to reschedule yet again. My spouse took a second day off work because this (4th) scheduled date was a weekday afternoon. Keep in mind, that at this point, we're out four days of work. This time, the guy shows up and realizes out that the measurement guy took the wrong measurements. At this point though, the installer had already ripped out the window and temporarily installed the new one - complete with foam insulation to surround the gaping hole that would otherwise be there. It has been two weeks and we're living with a shower curtain over our window while the rain is seeping into our house. Not sure why they called their company consumers choice. I've felt really powerless in this situation and feel like I've had no choice in most of this process. *** UPDATE 3 YEARS LATER *** Hiring this company continues to be the worst choice we have ever made in this home. The window is completely rusted and my husband hurt his hand in the process of fixing it. Because of the rust, we had to drive to the hospital on Saturday (yesterday) at 9 pm to get the injury cleaned out, X-Rayed and a Tetanus shot. Words cannot describe how much I hate this company. We paid 1000 for a shoddy window and it has caused us nothing but grief since then.

High quality windows, doing a great job to keep the cold out. They operate quite smoothly and pop out easy to clean them. Windows installed in one day. The installers were very courteous and friendly. Respectful of our home and ensured everything was cleaned and back together after the job was done. Very happy with the windows and work done, will be recommending to friends.

First of, I have no word how to explain the experience I had with the ‘Consumers choice’.
we have been told by ‘Consumers choice’ window brick to brick and triple glass installations for better installation and energy with efficiency price. We were informed clearly by one of the salesman by the name Jaycen that by changing the windows to energy save, it will reduce/save energy and with efficient price range.

we did not ask for installation over existing frame. We have been told wall to wall or brick to brick. We had a window that was changed long time ago made with brick to brick. He went and showed us that this is wall to wall installation and they will make sure we get better installation with the new window energy saving windows.

Furthermore, the day they came to install the window, I did stop them when I saw them working on the exciting frame/old wood as soon as they remove my old windows, because the whole plan is to change to Brick to brick not over exciting frame And I immediately called the office on Jan 31 around 0930Am to inform them about the issue. However, the contractor proceeded the windows without my consent they rushed to finish their job, they could not wait if so they lose money. I have been contacting them several times to get us a solution with no effect. I have a recorded all the conversation with Consumer choice. All of this would not be a problem if they have resolved the issue when I informed them at that time.

It’s truly unprofessional work what this company offered and what they actually did. Besides, we did not see any difference, because during cold season the windows are cold and during hot season the windows are hot. Moreover, we have been notifying them that there is draft/air leaking on the windows. We even did check ourselves. It did shows draft on the windows. even the guys who came to install the windows checked for us with their thermos to see where the leaking is and confirmed that there is draft/air leaking on the windows. What to expect if the Installiation is incorrect and the windows are not the energy saving glasses. They tricked us.Nevertheless, Consumers choice sent their employee to check the issue, then again, this person didn’t know what he was doing, didn’t even know how to check a draft/inspect the leak. He did open 4’’ side of the window on one of the room and he stated he did not have to check the rest of the windows.

We were so disappointed, wasted our time and money for nothing. Even though we have checked by others with a proper inspection and did show draft on the windows and of course improper installation with an uneven window which it technically reduced the value of our house.

I asked them to start monthly payment as we agreed in the first place and to fill the rebate on behave us. Earlier this year, the Government announced if you change a new energy efficient windows, the Government will refund up to 500 per window, however we did not hear anything from them.

Last month they sent me a letter saying that I have to pay in full amount within a month, if not they will take me to court. This is insane because we have been asking them that we have a problem on the newly installed windows every since they left the house.
Their work affects the value of our house. More or less, we did not see any difference on the monthly hydro/gas bill.

Do not trust this company. we have been told they do not have a solution.
They reduce the value of our house, they reduce the sizes of the windows (uneven installation), capped with a big aluminum frame, poor windows, no reduction outside noises, no reduction on our gas bills, doesn’t make any difference from what we used to have.

I would not recommend this company. I had my windows and sliding door done with huge regrets. Their installers are never on time and are hacks. Total hack work. I'll start with my sliding door. The door they delivered was hacked together by the install team which caused a corner to get mangled. When I pointed it out the installer said no problem and took a crowbar to hack the corner in to an even worse state. All they had to do was unscrew the frame and apply some heat to fix it. I'm waiting 3 weeks for a replacement door frame to arrive so they can fix the problem. They completely destroyed my old door so they had to temporarily install the new door. As for my windows. A job that should have taken 2 days was dragged out to 3. The install was definitely not Windows Wise Certifiable As they did not shim the windows so make sure adequate foam was sprayed all around. They left foam on my hardwood. I repeatedly called their head office and pointed out to the installers that. I also got a nice gouge in my hardwood. My house was a mess. The drop clothes they used spread more dust from their other jobs to my rooms than it helped contained. I waited to post my review because I gave them the chance to make things right and nothing happened. Pictures show Foam on the floor. Nice Gouge in my hardwood. Inadequate foam. Totally inadequate response from the company. Almost impossible to talk to someone on the phone to get this resolved. As another poster mentioned that materials used are top notch but the service level from the company combined with their lack of organization and their terrible hack work is just incredible. Don't let the response fool you it has not been resolved.

We have had nothing but problems with Consumer Choice, avoid working with this company at all costs. We purchased 10 windows in February, signed contracts stating that the windows would be installed on May 30th. My partner and I had both taken the day off work to be there for the installation, but on May 30th no one showed up. We called Consumer’s Choice and they told us our windows would be delayed until June 15th. Well again, we both took the day off work and nothing. We were then told that our windows were being delayed from the manufacturer until June 27th. Again, we heard nothing from the company on June 27th. At this point, we gave up contacting them. We were then notified that on July 9th our windows would be installed at 9am… once again we had taken the day off work and got a phone call on the installation date saying that would be installed on July 10th instead. At this point we were upset and phoned Consumer’s Choice to complain about lost time on numerous occasions. They promised that if the work was not done on July 10th, they would remove $250 off our final costs as compensation. On the day of installation, only one person came to install all 10 windows, he was not even an Consumer’s Choice employee but a sub-contractor. We could tell that he was stressed and he was rushing to get the job done by the end of the day. He installed 6 windows by himself before another worker appeared and they completely butchered our house!! They knocked out 8 bricks when removing one of our windows and replaced the entire top portion of the opening with a long 2x4 and covered it with aluminum flashing. We were beyond upset at their work so we asked them to leave the loose bricks alone so we could fill in the gaps with mortar and properly secure the bricks, but instead they thought it would be a good idea to caulk the bricks into place. They cracked and broke our interior drywall in multiple spots when installing our windows. 6/10 windows are not level and 2 are visibly crooked to the naked eye. They cut our bathroom shelving unit to fit the new window and left it with rough and jagged edges. The trim work on all the windows is brutal, huge gaps between the joints that they tried to fill with wood filler. We asked them to leave us the remaining trim for our windows as we would like to install it ourselves and they left without giving us the trim that we had already paid for. They left our home a mess there was drywall debris and broken glass lying around multiple openings, which they did not clean up prior to leaving. We tried contacting Consumer’s Choice while the workers were here, but it was the end of the day and we were notified that a manager would be contacting us soon and wanting to do an inspection of their work. We refused the pay the remaining balance upon completion of their work due to the multiple issues noted above and we have still not heard anything from Consumer’s Choice. Please save your money and your time and send your business to another company who will truly put their Consumer’s first—you will be saving yourself lots of trouble.
