★ ★ ★ ★ ★ WORST EVER. WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THIS PLACE?! HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE WORKING HERE?! THEY SHOULD NOT BE WORKING HERE!! LET'S START A FACEBOOK PETITION FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT WANT THESE CURRENT PEOPLE TO WORK AT THE CONSULATE. HAYDEN IS A NICE GUY AND ACTUALLY ANSWERS EVERY QUESTIONS HOWEVER THE REST OF THE LADIES THAT WORK HERE ARE JUST RUDE.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Too busy and staff could not answer a lot of questions. Before I visited I tried to call at 9am sharp as soon as they opened, i was on hold for 2 hours and phone got disconnected. I went there the next day at 8am to get waiting ticket and they gave me a ticket for 10 am appt. When I asked questions regarding filling out some forms, they said I had to come back next day at 8 and get another waiting ticket because my question was related to services they offer in the afternoon. Very unpleasant experience over all!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ How to walk-in: (Tues-Thurs)
1. Arrive between 6:30am-7am and line up outside.
2. Door and elevator will unlock at 8am.
3. Take elevator up to floor 16.
4. They will hand out tickets for time frames 9am, 10am and 11am. (Choose the time that is most convenient for you)
5. Arrive 10 minutes before your ticket time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I feel sorry for the professional staff working under this appalling condition, completely ineffective system: desperate applicants lining up early in the morning, before 7 am - people even come from AB and SK come and hope to walk in. Especially during this pandemic, can these simple services still require in-person visits; can’t be done electronically. The staff were however very patient in handling a large volume of applications and I hope this review does not reflect their efforts helping us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a great experience here yesterday not sure about the other reviews but i can see how short staff can be an issue theirs lots of work to be done. i did however notice people missing information which definitely sucks get your paperwork in order to save the hassle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited the Consulate General in Vancouver to get a passport a few days ago. I was surprised by the friendly and prompt service and was able to apply for passport issuance without any problems as the staff was very well informed about things I didn't know. I could feel the affection and power of Korea by seeing how skillfully and kindly they responded to the complaints who repeatedly asked the same question until the end. Thank you for your hard work, which is a great help to Koreans living abroad.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is quite sad to see all those negative reviews. I’ve never had an issue over the last 5 years. I’ve been here many times for driver license, passport renewal and so on. Every single time each staff of the counter were helpful, nice and explained with patience. Especially, #3 counter, she was willing to help me and was greatly patient even when I made mistakes in the form a few times.. I really want to say thank you again for her help.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything went well from getting inside the office and submitting the papers for my Background check application. Make sure to arrive here 30 mins early to get early entry and even after entering the office, get the number slip for the respective counter. There is free photocopy machine for you to copy your documents if you forgot to bring your own.
My only issue is that despite me living in Korea for 11 years and paying full taxes, consulate will not get me the Driver’s abstract and background check for lapse record because I am a foreigner. Why this discrimination? When it can be done for a Korean citizen, why not the expat who paid high taxes in Korea? Not fair.
But whatever it is, this counter’s services are good, fast, and efficient, with a pinch…
