For me it was a good experience. I registered all my ID and other official documents in case of bad luck (thief, lost ...) My partner and I, we even did a civil solidarity pact (PACS) and it was great! Friendly, good atmosphere, they where very kind. Thanks, for making our PACS a good memory

The Consulate of France provided nothing less than excellent service. From the day the application was dropped off, I received my visa exactly a week later. Throughout the process, I was updated regularly of the status of the visa and when it will be delivered. Also, the bank statements that are required are for your chequing account, not investment account. Thank you to the lady at the consulate who helped me out and sorted out which documents I need to submit.

worst experience I have have ever had (Vancouver). Went twice and everything has been extremely disorganized (agents are polite enough but it does not compensate for the inconsistency and lack of clarity with everything!). Something needs to change because this has also been the experience for 2 other families. Website is unclear, agents ask for different things. A general lack of consistency and organization. I don't often write reviews but something needs to be done to change this process. It has been very stressful, time consuming and expensive. Unbelievable really. Hoping we will get the required visa the upcoming exchange.

I do not write many reviews, but this time I have to. It is amazing how many bad reviews these good people get. Different people, different experiences ? Not sure. I had to deal with these guys twice : for an emergency passport renewal and for a change of residence. Twice they were great, I should say : twice they went the extra mile for me. so... Gilles

I have just experienced a truly 5 star service from the Consulate as they assisted me in gaining Compassionate Travel to see my ill father. The care, efficient and supportive communication has been amazing. I am so very grateful and delighted with the people who have helped me.

Impossible to send a simple mail and get a quick friendly advice. They only accept contact through their horrible messy website from the 2000s, and force people to have super delayed appointements. When you see how slow they walk in their offices, and the time they waste chatting with you for nothing, just to spend time until the very last minute of your time slot is over, you understand why everything takes forever. Instead of wasting everybody's time so that the appointment lasts exactly X minutes and being lazy, I would prefer that you let me go and that you spend the spare time replying to your emails. The French bureaucracy basically... Edit: stop blaming other services for the bad reviews in your reply, I was talking about YOU : Consulat Général de France. Nobody else.

The fact that they will not even put you on hold is the height of poor service. Apparently I am expected to dedicate my day to calling back over and over again in the hopes of getting lucky and calling when someone just happens to be free. Of course the baseline of customer service should be set at a call back option which avoids anyone waiting on hold and which is no extra work on the company's end since the system can be entirely automated. For an entity whose MAIN PURPOSE is to interface with people I have to wonder who actually makes these kinds of decisions and what their reasoning is. From the outside I have to admit that it just looks like either laziness or ineptitude - or perhaps a combination.

I wrote an email with no acknowledgement 5 days ago. I called the number cannot find anyway to talk directly to a human being. I am registered as a French citizen. I have had many emails from the consulate saying you are here for us. Well not my experience. I wanted to register my dismay at Macron dismissing a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Olympics, calling it insignificant. Really . Canada, USA, UK and Australia have all joined the boycott. I am so appalled by France's position. Paulette
