β β β β β I went to the nanaimo airport cafe for the first time in my life on jan 17, 2020. It is an awsome cafe, i was satisfied and full. Buses now go to the airport. I ordered a double beef burger and fries and pepsi, mmmm mmmm good!. I will be coming here amillion times more in the future.

β β β β β Poor customer service and terrible soup!!!!!
I just ordered a coffee and a βbowl of βchickenβ gumbo soup for $5.75. The tiny portion was brought to me and had ONE square of chicken and mostly consisted of jalapeΓ±os. I overlooked the chicken but when I took a spoonful it was SO spicy I couldnβt have another bite!!! ?. I brought it back to the lady behind the counter who said yes sheβd heard it was very spicy. Yet, no offer to refund the money and I didnβt ask.
I will never buy from here again!!!!

β β β β β It's an okay restaurant. The food isn't great, but isn't terrible, most things are bought in bulk and frozen.
The real problem is the size of the restaurant and the price of the food. The ordering area is very cramped. If there is more than a couple people ordering, then you are practically crawling over eachother to get past.
The food is a bit overpriced. A simple tuna fish or egg salad sandwich will run you $7, extra for fries and drinks. Breakfast is greasy and so is the burgers. Stick to the fries, chicken fingers, and sandwiches. But it's also your only option at the airport.

β β β β β This has got to be the worst airport cafe I've ever been to, and so small and poorly designed for airport clientele. There are only about four tables to sit at, and you can only get to them through a very narrow aisle next to the cash that is cluttered with souvenirs and fake first nations art bibs, scarves, shirts and potholders. The saving grace is that some of the sandwiches are reasonable to eat but nothing to write home about. The coffee is passable but at a Starbucks price. The breakfast sandwiches are unnecessarily greasy. The wraps are drippy. Better to eat before you get to the airport.
